Eight years later, both my uncle and the president of Calisthenes were still in power, I don’t really like dictatorship, but my uncle had become a militaristic politician.
Mr. Benjamin supported him for some time, but they soon began to have differences and dispute among themselves, especially after the war of the mystical forest, which is located in-between the borders of Calisthenes and Sosthenes.
The Calisthenian president wanted the forest to belong to Calisthenes alone, but my uncle wanted him to share the forest, a territorial war ensued – a battle on the land! And my uncle won the war, because it was a war on land with little or no aerial battle, my uncle won a tactical victory, he was helped by God even though he did not acknowledge God, I believe that it was God that helped him to win, though there is a Council of Elders in Sosthenes' capital that advises my uncle on what to do concerning decision making in the country especially concerning critical decisions, but the elders in the council were the ones that gave him the tactics concerning another battle that happened a few months after that one, it was an aerial battle and my uncle lost this one this time around.
During the preparation for this battle, my uncle had been informed of the retaliatory attack the Calisthenians were planning, and my uncle was told that they were planning a heavy aerial attack.
The General of the Army approached my uncle in the presidential office at the presidential villa.
“My Intel gave me reliable information that the Calisthenians are planning a heavy aerial attack.” The General said apprehensively.
“Keep that information private! I will inform the Council of Elders about this, I believe they will give us the best strategy for this war.” My uncle responded in a decisive manner.
During the meeting of my uncle with the Council of Elders in the Executive chambers, they gave him the best… or so they thought.
“There is great power in consistent dominion.” The oldest elder in their midst contributed.
“That is vague advice.” My uncle responded.
“In other words, keep on dominating the land, train more for land battles, but still keep the aerial battle in mind.” The leader of the elders explained.
“And that is our collective decision for this upcoming battle, Mr. President.” The shrewd one in their midst responded.
My uncle thought they were right, but they were far from being on the right path.
I don’t know if the elders wanted my uncle’s downfall, but the fact that my uncle heeded their advice and kept on preparing for battle on the land, despite the fact that my uncle knew that Calisthenes is very technologically developed and even more developed than Sosthenes in aerial battle shows some sort of error somewhere, but I can’t blame anyone.
Some few days before he went for the second battle against Calisthenes, I told him to build a war aircraft for me, customised and specially crafted for me. I really wanted to be a warrior, I wanted to be a biblical character in the Bible, and the name of that biblical character is Deborah. Do you know that she is the only female judge in the Bible?
And my uncle told the doctor that helped us during the years of the Ilsviper disease to build the customised warcraft for me, at this time Mr. Parker had become a right-hand man to my uncle, and he was able to gather the right team of engineers to build the customised warcraft for me easily.
The war aircraft Mr. Parker built for me looked like a spider in terms of look. On the other hand, it had blitzing speeds, it could defy gravity in extraordinary ways, and it had a powerful gliding ability. I must confess, it was fun piloting it for the first time.
I observed the way my uncle trained the soldiers for land battles, and I liked their training, I even tried to do the backflip they did during training, keep in mind that all this happened before the second war with Calisthenes. I did the backflip on the balcony, and used it to land on the main floor, two soldiers saw me do it, and they were surprised I could do it so well, that they decided to do the same too. They made poor attempts at it since they did not do it so well, I tried to teach them through an improvised means. They liked the way I taught them, and that was how my journey into the military began.
I wanted to join the army, but anytime I raised up the topic of joining the army, my uncle would refuse to give me audience.
“The army is meant for men, not for women!” He would say on several occasions.
But! I was not even a woman, I was a lady!
After he lost the second battle against Calisthenes, my uncle came back defeated and ashamed, he had lost some soldiers in the army, and he told me the consequences of losing the war with President Benjamin.
“Now, we are all in the dread of getting invaded, the Calisthenian president does not care! We are doomed.” He said dejectedly.
“At least, we are alive.” I said this in a bid to lighten the pensive mood he had.
“We have to run away, I must not be captured, I could be dethroned! My daughter, we have to flee, we have no…” He was about to finish his negative sentence, but I interrupted his speech with my optimism.
“I refuse to be a coward, if you chose to run away, you make this choice alone, I will fight this battle to the last, I promise you, dad!” I responded with all of my heart.
Though, I was afraid, if not confused, but I remembered God, and I ran into my room and made a promise to give my life to Jesus Christ if I won the next war that would inevitably happen. As for my uncle, his hands were now crossed in anxiety.
A day after they returned defeated from the warfront, I tried to boost their morale for the next invasion that we would have to defend against.
I stood before the army in their barracks, it was a blissful morning, I spoke with confidence, and I felt like a queen.
“I may have the look of a lady, but I have the heart of a lion, and the mind of an eagle, it is not over until it is over! Who is ready to be prepared for war?” I asked still buzzing with confidence, but no one responded.
I felt so disappointed, I knew the president of Calisthenes would soon invade Sosthenes, so I was trying to prepare the soldiers for another war. The passiveness they displayed on that day was because the motivation was coming too early. They were yet to recover from their recent defeat.
If you thought I gave up on first trial, better think again. I tried to motivate them the second time, I was incredibly hopeful.
“We have nothing to lose if we try to fight again, quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit, with God on our side we shall win! I want to ask you, who is on my side?” I said with the best level of enthusiasm I could summon at that moment.
To my greatest surprise, they got motivated for action. And this time around, I took charge of the training and preparation with the help of Mr. Parker and my uncle.
Of course! I prepared only for an aerial battle! The battle of the skies!
