New York City had always been a whirlwind of dreams and chaos, car horns blaring, people hailing taxis, angry locals, but on the day I walked through the ornate doors of Sterling Productions, all the commotion was left at the door. I glanced down at my outfit, the one that I had spent hours picking the night before. I clutched my intern badge and was guided to the makeup department.  I navigated the corridors of Sterling Productions, thinking on how hard I'd worked for this opportunity, now that I had it, it wasn't going to slip away. I was about to begin my journey in the world of movie makeup, working under the watchful eye of the legendary Estelle Bonielle. Estelle, whose name was commonly associated with perfection, was notoriously strict and exceedingly busy. She could transform the plainest face into a masterpiece, and I was eager to learn from her, even if it meant enduring her demanding standards. As I arrived at the makeup department, and the floral scent of numerous different perfumes filled the air. Accompanied by the familiar haze of hourglass setting powder blanketing the room. The glare from the hollywood mirrors blinded me and the room was a whirlwind of activity. It was organised chaos, and I knew I was stepping into a place where I belonged.

"Ah, you must be the new intern," a crisp, no-nonsense voice called out from the midst of the bustling makeup artists. I turned to see Estelle herself, clothed in white silk blouse and elegant black pants. Her silver hair was shone with products, and her eyes were like daggers. I nodded, feeling both intimidated and excited.

"Yes, I'm Y/N," I replied, trying to muster confidence.

Estelle studied me for a moment, her lips curling into a slight smile.

"Well, Y/N, welcome to Sterling Productions. You'll be working under my guidance. You should know that I demand excellence in everything we do here. Your job is to assist the makeup artists, keep the station clean, ensure the actors are ready for their scenes, and do lunch or coffee runs. Oh! one more thing –" She fixed her stern gaze on me. "Under no circumstances are you to fraternize with the actors. We maintain professionalism at all times. Are we clear?"

I swallowed hard, my heart sinking just a little. The prospect of working closely with the glamorous actors had been one of the thrilling aspects of this internship. But I nodded, determined to prove myself to Estelle. "Crystal clear," I replied, my voice uneasy. Estelle gave a brisk nod of approval before turning her attention back to her work. As I settled into my new role, I couldn't help but steal glances at the actors passing through our department. The one who had already captured my attention was Dylan Hoffman, the movie's male lead. Every time he entered the room, a wave of excitement and chatter made its way through the makeup artists, and I couldn't deny the flutter in my own chest. I knew it would be an exciting year to come.
