Shay was sitting in her room on her laptop, until she heard a knock at the door.
"Come in." She shouted. The door opened to reveal Laur who had an apologetic look on her face.
"What the hell do you want?" Shay spat.
"I came to apologize." Laur replied, looking down at her feet, not wishing to make eye-contact.
"Go on then." Shay said, rolling her eyes at the girl.
"I'm sorry for icing you out for days. Calum made it seem like the breakup was all your fault and obviously I believed it was or else I would have come to you sooner. You have every right to not forgive me, I was a total bitch to you. I do love you though and I want to at least try to fix things between us." Laur spoke, slightly tearing up.
"Thank you for apologizing but I'm still mad. You're meant to be my best friend and instead of helping me through my breakup, you ignored me for days on end." Shay replied, her voice breaking as she tried not to cry.
"I know and I am so unbelievably sorry for that." Laur responded as she walked over to the bed and sat next to her friend.
"I know, if you weren't then you wouldn't be here apologizing." Shay spoke, the two finally making eye contact.
Laur wrapped her arms around her friend and Shay returned the gesture.
"I love you so much." Laur said, squeezing her friend as tight as possible.
"I love you too." Shay replied. "You should probably get back to your boyfriend, I bet he has no clue what to do by himself." She joked as they broke their hug.
"Probably not." Laur replied, laughing at the girl. "I'll come back and check on you later and then we can maybe go do something when Mike leaves?"
Shay nodded and gave her friend a soft smile as she was walking out of the door.
As Laur walked in the room, Mike paused his game and turned his attention to her.
"How did it go?" He questioned.
"It went well. We're gonna have a girls night so you're gonna have to go back home tonight." She said, as he pulled her onto his lap. He nodded and smiled at her as she pecked his lips, Michael attempted to kiss her again but she pulled away.
"That's all I get?" Michael pouted.
"You're such a baby!" She laughed as she kissed him again. He attempted to deepen the kiss but she pulled away yet again.
"What did I do?" Mike questioned, "First you tell me I have to go home and now you won't kiss me?"
"You didn't do anything and I've kissed you twice." Laur said as she turned to straddle him. He smiled at her and tucked her hair behind her ear.
"You're so beautiful." He whispered, placing his forehead on hers. "I'm so in love with you." She smiled.
"Michael?" She spoke and he hummed in response. "Do you believe in soulmates or love at first sight?"
"Yes, I do. I loved you the moment I met you." He replied. "Why do you ask?" He questioned.
"Just wondering." She responded, kissing him.
"Shay and Cal have had me thinking a lot, especially about our relationship." Michael spoke, laying back onto the bed.
Laur raised her eyebrow in confusion, "What about our relationship?" She questioned.
"I'm just scared, Laur. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I'm terrified you're going to leave me." He ranted. She leaned over and kissed his nose.
"I'm never going anywhere, you're stuck with me for the rest of your life. I love you more than anything. I want to marry you someday, I want to have your kids, we get our own place and maybe a dog or two. You are the one that I want to be with in the end. Nobody else, just you. I fully believe that you are my soulmate and that we are meant to be." She replied, pulling him to sit up. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him.
"You want kids?" He asked with a big smile.
"One day." She replied, returning a smile.
Michael kissed Laur's forehead and said, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I can't wait for all the amazing things we're going to do together. I love you so much."
"Tell me about your day." Shay insisted as her and Laur sat in the kitchen.
"Mike and I talked about our relationship and that's about it." Laur said, with a soft smile on her face.
"What about it? Is everything okay?" Shay questioned.
"Everything is really good, perfect actually." She answered, a slight blush creeping upon her face.
"I'm happy for you guys." Shay said, smiling at her friend. Laur returned the smile and a comfortable silence fell over the pair.
"How are you doing? You know with the breakup and all." Laur spoke, breaking the silence. Shay sighed and looked away.
"It's tough, but I'm getting through it." Laur nodded sympathetically and reached for Shay's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"I'm here for you if you need anything." Shay smiled and nodded, grateful for the support.
"Thank you," she said softly. They sat in companionable silence for a few moments, taking comfort in each other's presence.
"Let's go watch a movie and smoke." Shay spoke, standing up and walking towards the couch.
"I could always go for a movie." Laur beamed.
