Quite. Quite all around. Skyleigh sat high above the ground on a tree quietly watching waiting. She had no weapons. Hopefully she had no need for weapons. Her mark switched of his bedroom light. This was her time to strike. Attempting to scale down the tree from the branch she perched upon her ground level and slipped in the back door.

How much should she steal? She needed enough to keep her going but bread goes off quite fast. She wondered why the green grouser couldn't be the one who forgot to lock his back-door. She settled on four loafs stuffing them into her bag quickly.

She turned to go and walked right into an officer of the law. She was astonished they could respond that quickly.

"So you're the punk that's been nicking stuff round these here parts." The officer said unravelling her barbed whip.

"What! No!" Skyleigh says defensively though presently in the act of stealing.

"You know I expected someone sharper lookin'. Sad to know this neighbourhood can be duped so easily by you sorts."

"I have no idea what you're talking Ma'am. I'm simply need to eat. I'm not the type to steal. I just..."

Skyleigh saw explaining to this woman is hopeless. She is an old-fashioned thinker. She could see it from the reserved and orderly vibe she gave off. So Skyleigh knew the only one way to avoid arrest.

"Leave me be Mountie and you shall not be harmed." She tensed all her muscles trying to sense the energy flowing through the air around her. With all her might she pushed energy around her into on concentrated spot. She gathers every little joule around her and conjured a small blue flame in her left hand in the hope her majic was threatening enough to scare the officer off.

"Mounty? I'm the sheriff little lady." This took Skyleigh aback. Sheriff. Not Neo-Sheriff. The actual Sheriff. A break in at a bakery is in no way important enough for her to handle.

"So you're a Pyrosynthesiser. Your little flame is so cute." The sheriff flicked her barbed whip effortlessly and it burst into flames.

Skyleigh let her flame die and dived for the door. She felt a warm tingling feeling she had grown to associate with burning on her ankle. The whip had grazed her. Running like the wind trying to summon a useful power from the ether for escape. She was going so fast she couldn't process where she ran. There was a horrible screeching behind. She didn't turn in fear of tripping.

The empty narrow streets had few places to hide. She tried running faster. Leaping in the air she soared just above the tree tops feeling the cold night breeze. All her energy had gone in to getting off the ground. She'd lost all sense of balance and soon found herself on the ground. The tingling sensation returned through her entire body. He looked around the hazy landscape. Seeing the pink-grey blobs that were her torn off flesh her mind started reeling. Doing back-flips and summersaults to get her head around the fact she's probably bleeding out. The last thing she saw before her consciousness faded away was fire. Just fire. Nothing but fire.
