September 3rd-
Check out time was an hour away and the phones were ringing off the hook asking if we had any space for tonight despite it being a holiday weekend and we had been fully booked for a month in advance. I pick up the phone ask it rings for the second time. I answer it as usual I say hi thank you for calling The Lodge Hotel. This is Mackenzie. How may I help you?
A gentleman wants to double check his reservation for tonight. So I try his name, his wife's name, his reservation number nothing is popping up. I'm like oh my gosh did somebody mess up? Was it put under the wrong name? Was it accidently canceled? And so finally this guy gives me his player number and I was like sir, that is not one of our player numbers it's about two digits too long, and he was like this is the Monarch hotel, right?
I respond with no this is the Lodge hotel. He says "but I called the number on the back of my player card" I say "Yes sir but our phone numbers are VERY similar, it could have just been a slip of the finger."
