I lock the door and turn around, just in time to see Rika stepping out of her apartment. She spots me and sends me a smile. I smile back.

"Hey Rika, where are you going?" I ask her as we both near the elevator.
"Oh, I'm just going to buy some books for my classes." She replies.

"That's great, I'm on my way to do the same and I wanted to grab some sweets and a coffee. Would you like to come with me?" I ask her, sending her a warm smile. She seems like a nice person, she may be two years younger than me but she looks like someone you would want to befriend.

"I would love that." Rika answers with a wide smile.

Rika and I bought our books for our classes in college and now are seated in a little bakery, with a two coffees and two cinnamon rolls in front of them.

Rika takes a bite of it and her eyes widen.
"Oh my God, this is so delicious."
"They are the best in the entire city, I'm glad I found this place because the sweets here are heaven." I reply with a teasing smile and we laugh.

"So tell me more about yourself, Rika." I start and she shrugs.
"Well, there's not much to tell. I was born and raised in Thunder Bay. I love to fence and now this cinnamon rolls are my favorite sweet on this earth."
"Fencing wow. This is so rare to hear but it sounds amazing."
"Thanks. So what about you?" She asks interested.

"Well I was born and raised in London. Travelled for a year, live in Paris for two years, while working for Vogue and now I decided to move to Meridian City to study fashion design because my parents wanted to move back here."
"Wow! You're life is so much more interesting."
"But only because I'm two years older than you. You still have time to travel Rika, so you don't need to worry about that." I reply sincerely and she smiles.

"Do you have any hobbies?"
"Yeah, I have my own fashion blog where I post about the newest trends and news in the fashion world and I go to the gym and do some self-defense."
"That's great, maybe you can tell me in which gym you're going, so we can train together?"
"That sounds like a great idea." I reply with a wink.

"So, you and Trevor?" I ask curiously, wanting to find out what she sees in him.
"We're no longer together. We just simply didn't work out."

"Thank God that you two didn't because, sorry if I say it this directly, but Trevor is a fucking asshole and just by knowing you for such a short time, I know that you deserve better."
She nods and takes another bite of her food, I do the same and take a sip of my coffee as well.

"You said, your parents are friends with the Crist family."
"Well, more like our mothers are best friends but yes. Why?"
"Oh, I just heard Delia talk about you sometimes." Rika replies and shifts in her seat, I frown in confusion.
"About you and Michael." She clarifies and now I know where she's headed.
"You like Michael."

"I did, maybe I still do a little but I realized that nothing could happen between me and him, not with the way he had this look on his face, whenever someone mentioned you, like he was thinking about you." She says and my heart stops for a second, thinking about what happened yesterday. But no, he wouldn't, Michael never liked me in that way, or did he?

"Rika, people change in three years."
"Maybe, but I was with him and the boys at devil's night. I wanted to try something with him and he played at first, because everyone knows the horsemen love to play games but at the end he refused and told me about you."

And this makes me freeze. Did he really thought about me all these years, the way I've been thinking about him? What he was doing? If he was happy? If he had someone?

"I would love to be your friend Eve but I just wanted you to know that because I wouldn't want something standing in between our friendship."
"I would like to be your friend too, Rika." I reply and grab her hand.

"Do you like him?" She asks me now and I don't know how to answer.
"It's complicated." I reply and she chuckles.
"I think that everything that is related to these boys is complicated." She adds and we laugh.
"Yes, it is."

We stayed in the bakery for an hour, eating our delicious cinnamon rolls and enjoying our coffee. Being happy with our newfound friendship.

Author's note:

So sorry for not updating in a while but wattpad has been glitching lately.
You see that I have a different plan for Rika, where she will find herself first, instead of finding someone :)
I also believe they're going to have an amazing friendship bond.
