jungwoo always enjoyed playing the victim and pulling the sympathy card. Sometimes he does these things for the mere fun of it or when he's drowning in boredom.
"Home sweet home"
The teenager said with a bright smile on his face. The nurses who were accompanying him looked at each other as if they were thinking the same thought of, 'this guy is definitely out of his goddamn mind'.
Well, this was not the first time jungwoo was a psych patient at gonjiam psychiatric hospital hence his response. Initially, he was admitted to the hospital for suicidal ideation when he was eight years old. He stayed there for just three months because he was still a child and had many more years left to grow, mature and be a functional person in society, according to the doctors. Nine years later, jungwoo is admitted once again to the psych ward for the premeditated murder of his parents along with his younger and older siblings. Honestly, jungwoo was quite ecstatic to be in this terrible place again. I mean, at least he'll get to see the patient that has the title of being the most dangerous. He's actually a fan; oddly enough, the boy would show his dedication and appreciation to this specific patient by writing love letters and short stories, updating them on his life and emotions.
The teenager was then accompanied to the infamous room 441. The nurse pushed the key into the keyhole, twisted the lock and opened the door. Once the door was fully pushed aside, the interior of the room was so dark, almost a pitch black glow. The space does give off an eerie vibe to which is almost suffocation but the teenager wouldn't notice anyway because of his excitement. jungwoo then turned his head to look at the nurse then asked,
"So, is this my new room?"
The nurse said nothing which made jungwoo cocked his head to the side in confusion. He then noticed that the nurse's hands were trembling. What exactly could she have seen for her to grow nervous? jungwoo found it weird but it was expected considering that they're in a creepy psych ward.
"Is everything okay miss?"
jungwoo asked. The boy's voice seemed to pull the nurse from her daze. She looked at him and then said with a forced smile,
"jungwoo, why don't you make yourself comfortable with your new friend?"
The nurse gently pushed jungwoo into the room and closed the door. The boy shrugged nonchalantly because the nurse's paranoia had absolutely nothing to do with him. He dropped his suitcase and stuff on the cold wooden floor and looked for the light switch. He then heard the lighting of a match stick and from the fiery glow he saw a shadow behind him. The patient's shadow is extended, with abrupt, angular movements indicating unpredictability. The silhouette depicts a figure with dishevelled hair and irregular posture, grasping a candle tightly in their palm. The shadow itself moved slowly, creating a bizarre and disturbing mood. This shadow is a visible representation of the patient's inner turmoil and the potential harm they pose, adding a disturbing element to the already creepy atmosphere. jungwoo concluded that the shadowy figure must be his new roommate.
