A couple of years back.

"Mother, mother wake up." Shaking your sleeping mom awake

"Hmm, hm, what is it sweetie, its the middle of the night?"

"I'm leaving."

"What? w- what do you mean, you have to be less vague about this, let's talk in the morning pumpkin, I wanna go back to sleep. "

"No, mom, I'm leaving like 'I'm leaving Maries Jois, I might never see you again..."

"Oh sweetheart, already?... You're just like your father, you know, chasing the adventures of the sea."

"... I think this is the first time you've told me about Father... come with me, mother."

She smiled at her hopeful daughter, 'Oh how she has grown.'

"I can't come with you, my dear. The people already know me, I would meet the same fate as the Donquixote Family."

"But if you stay here, you'll still be killed, mother." You argued back

"At least I'd get to die in the home I raised you in. That sounds much better to me, don't you think?"

"Well then... I guess this is goodbye, mother."

"Goodbye, my dear child, Just know I'll always be there with you wherever you go." she said as she was cupping your face, and she gave you the ring her husband proposed with in your palm.

You were never one for sentimental goodbyes, but it kinda stung a little bit as the wind pushed your tears away as you ran and kept on running.

Leaving Marie Jois was nothing sort of a miracle. Honestly, you surprised yourself escaping scratch free.

After fleeing to an island you didn't know, you were now in a forest and a very thick one at that.

Now the bigger hurdle was to begin. Now that you were likely seen as a threat to the Celestial Dragons, they would likely send the Marines after you, and what were you doing?

Struggling to build a fire in a little make shift camp you had made.

...

'Why is this so difficult? I'm doing exactly what the book said to do??' You thought staring at the sticks and twigs you gathered up for the fire

You knew you had to face reality, just because you had read something in a book doesn't mean the results would be the same practically.

Before you left Marie Jois, you got yourself ready in many ways, one of which was gathering all the books available to you for the journeys to come when exploring the seas. Of course this didn't mean you were dumb enough to believe only the words written on paper, Some things you just have to experience in real time for yourself.

And this was one of those times, building a damn fire shouldn't be so difficult. Luckily, various inventions by the people prove convenient in this situation. I wasn't about to succumb that easily.

And so, with that mindset of not giving up, you continued to train your mind and body to sustain the forthcoming adventures. Of course your training wouldn't be that useful if you never learnt how to fight against an actual human opponent instead of the animals in the forest, so you also practiced against various pirates, thieves, bandits and the like, that came for you.

This was how you eventually gained your current title of 'warlord'. It was a lot of work yk!

C- notes

Your mother woke up later that same day you left and was very sad but happy.  But that sadness soon turned into anger after seeing how you left your dirty room.
