It was dark, rainy but surprisingly no lightning. I was used to big flashes. I saw a shooting star, and I wished that I could be like ol'lightning head up on Olympus, one of the original gods. Him, Poseidon and Hades, they ruled sort of in harmony. Sure, once in awhile there would be a war, but those would be explained in a myth. And the people, they were not like me, and how do I know that? I don't, it just feels like I'm different.
When the lightning struck it was like Zeus himself was there in person. When the flash dissolved, in my head an image of a man still lingered there and a voice saying: "You ,you will tear me down and Olympus with me." I looked around my room, also the attic, and I noticed a clay pot with three figures on it. One was a man holding a lightning bolt, another one was holding a trident, and the last one was wearing a helmet. I picked it up. It was surprisingly light, but when I lifted it something inside of me awoke, something ancient and powerful. I went to go to talk to my parents so I ran as fast as possible to tell them. I said did you see that lightning? Then every thing was on fire, the only place that wasn't on fire was a circle around me, like I did it. This is me Hephaestus, and this is my story.
