Finally, we were returning to St Georges Park

Finally, we were returning to St Georges Park. Even though the squad for the Euro's hadn't been announced as of yet, a preliminary group of us were headed to the training base to start preparing today. Just over a month until the Euros started.

A crumpet popped up from the toaster, shaking me out of the thoughts brought on by nerves and lack of sleep. I could never sleep before anything important, well not at home anyway. It felt different when I was away with all the girls rather than here.

Whilst I was lining my stomach ahead of today, a pair of muscular arms wrapped around my waist.

"Come back to bed." Mason said as he pressed kisses down my neck, pulling my training shirt collar to the side to get to my collarbone.

"I can't. Euro's prep starts today, remember?" I said as I turned around.

"Oh, is that today?" Mason asked, sounding disinterested and continuing to grab at my sides and litter kisses everywhere.

"You can't be serious." I said, incredulously. "You forgot about one of the most important days of my career."

"It's only prep, babe. You can be five minutes late."

"I said no, Mason." I huffed. "I actually take my training seriously. Unlike some people." I mumbled the last part.

"God. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. You need to relax." he said as he walked back to our shared bedroom. "See you later, have fun."

"So you forgot that I'm staying there for the night as well then?" I called after him, only for the reply to be the shutting of the bedroom door.

"Fuck me." I sighed, as I grabbed my kit bag and overnight bag. I glanced at the clock seeing it was just after 5, meaning Leah would be here any second.

The more time I spent in the apartment, the more stress and tension I felt. Something I did not need today. So I grabbed the smoothies I made for Leah and I and decided to wait in reception.

A couple of minutes later I saw Leah's car pull up, instantly feeling at ease. She popped open the boot for me and got out to help me put my bags in.

"Didn't realise you were moving in until the end of the tournament, El." Leah laughed, seeing all the unnecessary stuff I'd packed.

"Don't laugh. You know I can't pack to save my life." I groaned as I got in the passenger seat, smoothies still in hand.

"What's my passenger princess bought me this trip?" She asked as she sat in the driver's seat.

"A green smoothie." I smiled. "It's good for you, so don't even start."

"I don't like green things." she complained, but still took it out of my hand.

"Well tough. You don't want my hard work to go to waste do you." I pouted at her. "I could've had a whole 2 minutes extra sleep if I didn't make you that."
