Thank God for my dad, or else I probably would've woken up at noon, he woke me up with an hour to spare. So, I pulled my phone from the charger and looked at my notifications, frowning when there was nothing there.

I decide to unfortunately get up from the comfiness that is my bed. I head to the bathroom and take a long shower, changing into a white long sleeve and my black cargo pants. Or maybe I should wear something more girly? I don't want to be bullied like I was before... I continue overthinking it, until I decide that I'll stick with it. I don't care if I get made fun of anymore, I'm used to having no friends, why change now?

After getting changed, I put on concealer and a thin layer of mascara. I head upstairs and pop a bagel in the toaster.

"Morning dad. Thanks for waking me up."

"Of course, princess, you look like death." He says jokingly.

I scoff and throw an orange at him, but he caught it, obviously.

While I waited for my bagel, and I went over to where Milo was on the couch and gave him head scratches. I heard the toaster and skipped over to it.

"Someone's awfully cheery this morning." Dad says happily.

"Yeah, I guess I'm more excited for school than I thought. I really hope it goes well, and all the teachers are nice." I reply as I put cream cheese on my bagel. Checking the clock on the wall, I decide to take my food to go.

"Alright I should probably get walking." I go to kiss my dad's cheek, but he cuts me off.

"Nuh-uh," he shakes his head. "You can take the truck to school until I say otherwise."

"What about work?" I tilt my head.

"I can get a ride, honey. Don't worry." He wraps his arm around my shoulder and gives me a side hug.

"If you say so, love you dad!" I say cheerfully as I grab the keys to his F-250 off the hook.

"Love you kiddo." He responds as I rush out the door.

I pull into the parking lot of the high school, taking a deep breath as I put the car in park. I pull down the mirror and double check how I look. I smile before taking the key out of the ignition, and stepping out of the truck, locking the doors behind me.

As I walk up to the school, I don't miss the sick Porsche that pulls in. I look at the guy who gets out, damn he looks like a douchebag, I think to myself.

I was too busy checking out the car, I didn't notice the homeless looking guy who was digging through the trash, I swear he stuck his foot out on purpose. I trip over his foot, but before I land face first on the sidewalk, I thankfully catch myself.
