I was quickly and quietly packing my things away for my sixth year at Hogwarts. I didn't want to disturb my mother while she was still unconscious. I had enough money saved up to get a bus ride to the train station. It was just before the crack of dawn. My mother won't notice my absence for a while now after she's awake.
I grabbed my wand and made my way out of the house before my mother had the chance to wake up. I made my way to the bus stop until it arrived to take me to the train station so I could finally get away from home.
While on the bus ride, I read some of my books to pass the time. It was a long trip between home and the station. I tucked my long-sleeved shirt down more so my skin wouldn't show. Mother had another fit last night and as per usual I was the target. Once it was done I had to clean everything up. I couldn't wait to get to Hogwarts. I was saving as much money as I could so I could find a place as soon as I graduated from Hogwarts. I would have done it sooner but my mom found my stash and used it for herself. I couldn't do anything about it.
I couldn't wait to see the boys again and hear about their summer. They always had such good stories, especially of how much more trouble they got into.
When I finally arrived at the train station I waited at my usual spot for the boys. I always arrived before them. I went back to reading my book until their arrival.
The boys and I were in the same year. I was sorted into Gryffindor along with them. In the beginning, I had no friends and was super shy. But they took me under their wings and made me come out of my shell whether I liked it or not. I did my best to stay out of trouble but was hard when they were around. I wanted to have as much fun as them but I was worried what would happen if my mother caught word of the trouble I would get myself into. It wouldn't end well for me.
I looked up in time to see the group of redheads heading my way. I put my book down before they got closer.
"Alright now everyone you know the drill," I heard Mrs. Weasley telling all her kids and Hermione and Harry as they tagged along. Mrs. Weasley finally saw me standing where I usually am on the first day back to school. "Aurora nice to see you dear. How are you?" she smiled and gave me a big hug. Mrs. Weasley was the mother I've always wanted but couldn't have.
I gave her a genuine smile. She always had that homey feeling around her whenever she was near. "Im good as always Mrs. Weasley. How was your summer?" None of them knew the truth of what really happened when I wasn't at Hogwarts and I preferred to keep it that way.
"It was great. You know you can come to visit anytime you want, you know that right?"
"I do. I've been busy working all summer," I said sheepishly.
"Now why would a young girl like you need to be working during the summer when you should be having fun?" she said putting her hands on her hips and giving me that motherly look.
"Ive been saving up money for when I leave home," I said laughing trying to play it off like it's nothing.
She quickly turned around to the rest of the group that was chatting amongst themselves. "Okay everyone we better get onto the platform before the train leaves!" she yelled getting everyone's attention.
Everyone nodded saying yes and making their way into the wall. We looked around making sure no muggles saw us.
I ran with Mrs. Weasley, the twins following behind us.
"How has Mr. Weasley been?" I asked once we were on the other side.
"Aurora you know you can call me Molly and Aurther by our first names right? It won't hurt you," she said putting a hand on my back.
