I'm not always the best at writing stories, so I hope this turns out better than I'm thinking it will.
I hope you enjoy!
Luffy had finally did it. He had finally become the King of the Pirates. The Straw Hat Crew had made it to Laughtale, after claiming the last poneglyph from Elbaf and running into Shanks. There, the Straw Hat Crew and Red Haired Shanks pirates fought for two days, nobody with any life threatening injuries, but two very tired crews. After the fighting had concluded, the two shared a feast together, before the straw hats moved on to Laughtale.
Luffy attempted to give Shanks back his hat before leaving the island, but he wouldn't accept it. He claimed that Luffy couldn't call their crew the "Straw Hat Pirates" if they didn't have a Straw Hat as a symbol. Both Luffy and Shanks chuckled that off, before leaving onto the sea.
Only a week later, Luffy and his crew found the final island, disembarked and found Gold D. Roger's treasure, which had not been found since his passing.
To celebrate this joyous occasion, they threw yet another feast and banquet, inviting all who they knew to the East Blue, away from Laughtale. Luffy insisted the party couldn't be on Laughtale, as that would ruin the location of the island. Instead, they had it in Luffy's hometown, which is what the captain had wanted.
There, many friends from their journey joined them at Foosha Village, including but not limited to the Heart Pirates, the Kid Pirates, the Kuja Pirates, Red Haired Pirates and even Coby along with some Marines. There were also members of Luffy's alliance present, previous members of the whitebeard pirates, hell even Mihawk showed up to the party. And while there were plenty of others (because my goodness the amount of people) Luffy could not meet them all in a single night. But he was more than overjoyed they had all came to celebrate with them.
That night, he not only saw Dadan for the first time in over two years, but also proceeded to pay off his treasure tab to Makino, even after she insisted it wasn't necessary multiple times. After that, he mostly ate for hours on end, laughing with a different person every minute, seeing old friends and celebrating with his crew. It was a night he would never forget anytime soon and he wouldn't want it any other way.
However, Luffy still had some of his own promises to keep as well, which meant he would have to leave his own party for a little bit. Luckily, it had died down from what the party was seven hours ago. Most of the party people were either passed out from exhaustion, talking to one another, or still dancing to Franky's DJ music set up. With all these events still occurring, Luffy made his way to the Sunny, which was anchored just outside of the house of the bandits that he spent his childhood in.
Luffy jumped off the island and onto the Sunny, where he walked his way up to the figurehead, before sitting down and staring out at the night sky. He had a small grin on his face as he did so, closing his eyes and letting the breeze make its way through his hair. He then exhaled loudly, opened his eyes and stared out to the moon, letting his eyes rest on it as he spoke.
"Well guys, I did it!" he said in a low voice, "I told you all that I would do it, I even made my dream come true, shishishi~". Luffy knew this moment would arrive at somepoint in his future, but he never imagined it would be this difficult to talk to the stars.
"Remember when you guys laughed and said there was no way I'd be able to do that! I miss that kind of stuff!" While Luffy was aware of it, slowly, tears began to form on the corners of his eyes.
"You always told me that what I was doing was insane, that while you supported me, you thought I was crazy! It was funny. Or when you thought I should join the Navy instead, that was funny too, because I hated the idea of being a marine." While Luffy still had a smile on his face, tears were slowly making his way down his cheekbones.
