Case Closed | (Royal AU) Heizou x Reader

"Is that Heizou prince bothering you again?"

"Scara, it's called checking up on me."

"Tsk."

You sighed at your brother's reaction towards your fiance's interactions with you. 

Born as Sumeru's princess, you've spent your childhood holed up in your room seeking knowledge non-stop. Just when you thought you were the smartest and most intelligent in the world because you kept scoring full marks in every test, Heizou from Inazuma appeared.

The Inazuman prince effortlessly humbled you by solving a mystery novel.

"It's instinct, princess."

That was what he said when you asked him about it. However, you found out you lacked something. You lacked experience.

Since then, you've decided to leave your room for once to explore beyond the castle walls. Your first step into the market reunited yourself with Heizou. When you returned to the castle, you received news that you would be engaged to none other than Prince Heizou.

So here you are now, exchanging letters with your fiance every so often.

"Oh, he's visiting next week!"

You were looking forward to solving more mysteries with him. That has always been your past time everytime he visits. Except this time, Heizou mentioned in his letters that he stumbled upon an unsolved case and he required your help.

Days flew by and soon, Inazuma's ship docked in Sumeru.

As much as Heizou wished to pull his future princess into a tight embrace, he had to maintain public image. Though, he spared no time to pull you into a big and long hug the moment you've arrived at the castle.

"This case is gonna take a while," Heizou told you. "I'm not in a rush to solve it, but it keeps me up at night."

You chuckled. "Tell me about it."

You led him to your study to continue your conversation.

"My beloved princess, you are so dreamy~"

"Is Your Highness having a heart attack?"

Heizou chuckled as he looked at you. "Everytime I see you I feel like fainting." The prince took a seat beside you on the couch. "Say, princess, will you crack this case for me?"

You glanced at him with that usual blank expression of yours as you muttered, "Are you falling in love?"

Heizou visibly tensed up. His eyes widened slightly. After all, your engagement was merely an arrangement both of your kingdoms made. Sure, he did take a liking to you when he first met you, but he had never thought he would catch romantic feelings for you.

It was you who figured out the reason for his unusual symptoms.

"So it was true when the doctor said I wasn't sick?" Heizou asked.

You laughed lightly at the expression your fiance was giving. It was your first time seeing him so shocked.

"I win this time," you felt smug. "Case closed?"

Heizou went on one knee in front of you. He lifted your hand until his lips and planted a chaste kiss as he said,

"I would have reported you for theft if you hadn't solved this case, princess. I wonder what will my princess steal next? My future empress' seat?"

You smirked, "If Your Highness leaves it empty, I might~"

When Heizou opened his arms, you let yourself bury into his warm embrace. You made him the happiest man on earth while he made you the most loved princess in history.

You noticed Heizou's face inching closer to yours and you quickly cover his face with your hands.

"Princess..." The prince pouted. You only chuckled as you whispered into his ear, "Let's save that for the wedding ceremony, yeah?"
