A 3 Month Crush = Love?!
Tonight at Awanas I heard a young girl (probably 4th-5th grade) talking to one of her friends about a boy in her class she had really liked for 4 months+. Now, to my surprise, the next thing I heard was this girl's friend telling her that because her crush had lasted over 3 months she must love him. I remember when I was in third grade and I had a huge crush on this boy named Anthony. After 3 months of liking him, my friends told me I must love him and I believed everything they had said to me. And sadly, I thought I really did love him all the way thru 5th grade when I finally moved. But as soon as I moved I realized I didn't miss him and I didn't love him, it was just a petty crush that didn't matter at all. A 3 month crush does not equal love it equals a simple schoolgirl crush. Just because you like him does not mean he is going to be the one you're going to spend the rest of your life with. Now this post really isn't anything special, but I just wanted to make it clear to all the little girls out there that just because you like him and it's been quite a few months doesn't mean that you love him and doesn't mean you should waste your childhood on him. Have fun while you're young, you can worry about boys when you're older! I mean seriously what happened to the days when girls thought boys had cooties?! And if I wasn't clear enough already, that rumor about you being in love if your crush has lasted over 3 months is completely and utterly FALSE! Have a nice day and stay young! Please! (:
