Chapter 5 - Buttcake

The voices are nearing us and I'm unsure on how this will turn out. What if it's a worker here in the building? They'll probably kick us out... no. They can't be that mean.

"Is she okay, Jongin-ah?" I daze off into a deep thought after hearing that voice. I've heard that voice from somewhere.

Two figures enter the door, but I can't make out their faces with frustrates me. I glance over to Baekhyun and Yixing who are alike me, frozen on the spot. I shiver in the sight of who these people might be, and what punishment they were going to give us for being here and not where we probably should be.

My eyes widen as I recognise the faces of the two boys. One is Kyungsoo and the other...it's that guy again. Why do I keep seeing him? Gosh, does this guy even know how to smile? He shoots me a glance of shock, and before I know it, we're making eye contact. His eyes are full of unsure feelings yet familiarity, and it gives me a sense of that he knows he has seen me before this incident. I'm sure my face is turning red, but I can't help myself with the look that he's giving me. My heart begins to feel like a balloon about to burst any moment, and the endless adrenaline is rushing through my veins. Kyungsoo follows the boy's stare which leads him into staring at me as well. As hard as it seemed, I break off the awkward tension and turn my gaze towards the ground.

Baekhyun can't help but had to let out a noticeably strange noise out of his mouth. Before I could cover his mouth from saying anything more, he bursts out the words, "Oh, it's you! It's him... it's him!"

I facepalm in embarassment and stare at the ceiling in preparation to see what awkwardness would come next. Yixing mumbles while letting out his hand to be shaken, "Hi, I'm Yi-yixing. Nice to meet you." Kyungsoo forms a smile across his lips and happily shakes Yixing's hand. The boy mutters in a rather displeasing manner and replies to Yixing by simply nodding his head and shaking hands with him without enthusiasm. Baekhyun then introduces himself, and I'm stuck on the spot as I come to the realisation that it's my turn next.

No words seem to come out of my mouth, which leaves me in my own embarrassment. Baekhyun nudges me with his elbow, and shoots me a glare of uncertainty and confusion. Yixing takes the right initiative to introduce myself to the others, which I'm grateful for in this situation which doesn't seem to be heading the way I planned. "This is my friend, Park Hyerim. We just met her earlier today and she's new in the industry like us, as well."

The boy just nods at me, which gives me the strange feeling I felt when I first spotted him in the audition room. Finally, he lets out some audible words and says, "I'm Jongin." Without warning anyone else, Jongin just strolls out the room while burying his face in his hands. Before I could judge him any much more than I already have, Kyungsoo apologises and says, "Sorry about him. He's been having it hard lately."

I bite my lip in wanting to know what's been happening in Jongin's mind lately, but casually attempt to shake it off and mind my own business. I pull out my phone and find a missed call from Nahyeon, who is probably curious to hear what I've been up to lately. I shove my phone back into my pocket as I clearly do not have time to answer her calls right now... it would be too impolite.

Kyungsoo senses my interest in his situation and quickly adds, "It's all good. He will get past this grumpy mood soon." Dismissing the topic, I rush to apologise on behalf of the all three of us.

"Uhhh.. We are so incredibly sorry for entering this room without permissi-" I hastily begin to say, before being interrupted by Baekhyun's voice.

"Please don't kick us out! We promise to behave a lot better next time!" He exclaims as Yixing nods silently but pleadingly beside him.

Kyungsoo bursts out laughing at our sudden change of demeanour.

"It's all good. I won't kick you out! But, just warning you, if you enter someone else's, they may bring you to the security guys," he says jokingly as Yixing and Baekhyun's shoulders visibly loosen.
