An Unspoken Love

Chapter 1: The Meeting

   Giyuu's POV:

      The day was hot, the sun beaming down through the windows of the Hashira Mansion. I sat up from my bed groaning softly as my black hair covered my eyes. Letting out a yawn my dearest crow flew in squawking at me. "Hashira Meeting! Hashira Meeting! *Squawk* Hashira Meeting! Hashira Meeting!" I sighed in annoyance as I nodded in agreement.
   "Thank you..I'll be there soon..however next time don't be so loud okay..?" I muttered, I got up from my bed and changed into my uniform. Whilst the crow flew back out of the window I quickly got ready and started to head over to the area where we normally hold our meetings. My sword strapped to my belt as it was almost digging into my hip while heading over, my eyes darted over in front of me as I saw Shinobu was the first one there. I felt my heartbeat rapidly increase as I moved closer. She looked over at me her hazey purple eyes staring right into mine as she greeted me with a soft smile.
    "Good Morning Tomioka, did you sleep alright?" Her soft soothing voice was comforting and sincere. I nodded at her feeling an overwhelming sense that wouldn't even let me speak. She nodded back acknowledging my response. I was always the quiet type of person and usually spent my time alone, yet after meeting Shinobu she seemed to check up on me unlike the rest of the Hashira. It felt nice for once to have someone acknowledge my existence, yet it felt just as disappointing that it took so long to find someone who would. The rest of the members of the Demon Slayer Corp seemed to just tolerate my existence, which kind of hurt, then again I didn't mind it after a while. As the rest of the Hashira arrived to the meeting spot we were greeted with our master..his condition seems to have gotten worse from when we last saw him. However the man is undeniably strong willed to keep up and not let the poison spread as far as it would have with a normal human.
   "My dear children" He began to speak before coughing up more blood from the poison coursing through his body. "I've called you all here to one, tell you all how much I appreciate every single one of you. Of course secondly, we have a problem going on in a town over to the East. I've called you all here to give everyone missions to protect man kind. You'll be put into pairs for each mission." Regardless of the pain he was in he still smiled at all of us, Mitsuri of course tried her best to not let the tears overflow from her eyes as she also noticed how much pain he was in. As he started to pair people up for missions he then faced himself towards me and Shinobu. "Tomioka, Shinobu, you two will be the ones to head out for the town in the East, I have no doubt that you two are unbelievably strong. Therefore I know you two can work together to take care of the problem. Please be careful though, it could be an upper rank demon for all we know and we must put a stop to their existence and send them off to a better place." Shinobu and I nodded as we kneeled in front of him.
    "We'll get right on it sir, and please rest up as much as you can." Shinobu stated with a slight concern, we were all worried for our leader since it seems to have spread farther than before, he simply just smiled and nodded in response before dismissing us from the meeting. We both quickly headed towards the mission we were assigned with taking a shortcut towards the forest. We stopped for a second in a bright part of the forest that let the sun shine right through the trees, making the grass below up appear lighter than before. We jumped up into a tree of our own, pulling out a small snack to keep ourselves fueled and energized for the mission. Hopefully this mission will go just as planned as Shinobu and I discussed what we should do to protect as many civilians as possible.
