It's Halloween, and also my birthday. I'm officially seventeen now. I can do magic outside of school without the fear of the consequences of underage magic use. I can sign up for apparition classes taught by the ministry. I had already signed up and was waiting for the first of the classes so I could apparate where I please or for emergencies.

The Twins got a letter back a few days after notifying their parents about my living situation and if they could help. They agreed and suggested I go home to pack my things so I could move in during the break that was coming up. They were preparing the house for another person to live there. I continuously kept asking if they were sure about this so I wasn't a burden. They kept assuring me that everything was alright.

I couldn't send a letter to my mother about it for multiple reasons. Number one I couldn't have an animal in the house otherwise she would kill it as a punishment if I did something wrong, even if I didn't do anything wrong. The other reason was that it would give her a big enough notice that she would try anything to keep me in check.

Before breakfast, I headed to the headmaster's office.

"Lemon drops," I whispered. I shouldn't know the password but being able to make myself invisible comes in handy sometimes.

I walked up the circle of stairs and up to his office door. I gently knocked.

"Come in," I could faintly hear him say.

I quietly opened the door and stepped in shutting the door behind me. Dumbledore was sitting at his desk going through paperwork. He looked up from what he was in the middle of.

"Sorry Headmaster if I disturbed you," I started to say.

"You're alright Miss Vega. Was there something you needed or is something the matter?" he asked ushering me to take a seat in the chair in front of his desk. I sat down. "Lemon drops?" he offered some that were in a bowl on his desk.

"No thank you."

He stopped what he was doing and looked at me. "What's troubling you Aurora?"

"Uhm. I don't know how to exactly start this conversation without it sounding bad, to begin with," I said with a nervous laugh.

"If you must start off sounding bad that's alright. I'm not here to judge."

"During this coming break, I am moving in with the Weasley's," I began. "Uh," I uttered while playing with my sleeves nervously. "My mother has been abusing me ever since my father was murdered. The Twins just recently found out about it and they talked to their parents and have offered for me to move in so I can be safe," I said in a rush. I pressed my lips into a thin line.

"Ah, I see."

"I just wanted to inform you of my living changes before break comes."

"Okay will make note of that. Was there anything else you wanted to talk to me about?"

"My mother doesn't know any of this. I'm going to wait until she's out of the house or passed out from being too drunk before I remove my belongings. Otherwise, it will go very badly, very quickly. She will throw a fit and probably start some stuff when she realizes that I'm never coming back ever again."

"Okay, I will be prepared for what is to come after this break."

"Thank you, Headmaster."

"If that is all have a great day Aurora. If you ever need to talk just come to me, I will always listen," he said.

"Thank you again," I said getting up to leave. Before I left through the door the Headmaster said one more thing.

"Aurora?"
