Sara took a long glance at her wristwatch and she sprang up from the chair she sat on because she was late to pick her little sister from school.
"Holy shit" she yelled
Sara rushed to her car and drove off
"What's wrong with Sara? Why did she leave like that"
Michelle asked
None of them gave any response because they didn't have any idea of where Sara was going.
Sara was never late to pick her little sister. She was always protective over Meghan who was just eleven years old. Meghan was always bulled by her peers in school and was always too timid to speak out for herself. She tells her sister who bullied her every time she returns from school. Sara Warned the bullies not to touch her sister again but it went on over and over again.
While Sara was driving different negative thoughts ran through her mind. She was literally on a very high speed, her heart started to rush and balls of sweats formed on her forehead. She wiped her clammy forehead with her palm and didn't care of anything but just to pick her sister from school.
After driving for few minutes, she could now see the school from a distance and took a quick glance at her watch again and she saw the time was 5:03pm. Sara shivered in fear but still tried to stay strong and positive hoping her sister was okay.
She parked carelessly in front of the school. Screeching noise from the tyre made the birds around that surroundings to flea. She pushed the door of the car and forgot to turn off the car. Sara ran into the school and saw that all the students were gone. At this point, she didn't know what to think anymore.
Sara walked slowly to Meghan's classroom door but no one remained.
"Ahh"
She sighed heavily and placed her right hand on her forehead and began to breath fast.
"Miss, can I help you"
Luckily for Sara the head master of the school was still around the premises and as he passed by the classroom he saw Sara pacing around the classroom.
"Ah, thank God"
Sara sighed in relief when she saw the head master.
"I'm here to pick up my sister" her eyes brightens as she said
"Her name" the head master asked
Sara replied hoping she'll get a positive response.
"Meghan... Meghan Holland""Ooh... you're Meghan's sister. Her mum came here like an hour ago to pick her up"
The headmaster said while adjusting his long tie.
Sara took in a deep breathe and felt relaxed at once after taking a long drive in fear.
"I know you would've been really scared when you didn't see your sister being aware of all the deaths occurring in this town"
The headmaster uttered as he gave Sara a warm smile.
Sara smiled back at the head master knowing her sister was save
"Thank you for your help sir"
Sara said as she brought out her hand for a shake.
"This is 5:30pm already... remember curfew. You should be on your way"
He replied warmly
"Ooh... I almost forgot"
"Anyway, thanks. For everything"
"You should on your way"
Sara said"Yeah... I'll be leaving soon" he replied Sara
She went straight to her car and met the door of the driver's side wide opened with the car turned on. The tension she had going on some moments ago didn't make her notice
"Ooh shit"
She entered the car and drove straight home.
Phone rings;
Sara picked up her phone to answer the call. It was Michelle.Michelle; Sara what's wrong ? Why did you rush off like that?
Sara; umm... I forgot to pick up my sister from school
Michelle; ohhhh, you never told me you had a sister. But she's okay right?
Sara; yeah, she's fine
My mum picked her up some hours ago.
Michelle; okay
I was worried that's why I called
Sara; thanks Michelle
Michelle; are you heading home already?. It's almost time for curfew.
Sara; I'm almost home... Michelle, can I call you back
She hanged up the phone before Michelle could give any response. She was in shock again seeing the door of her house left opened wide. She drove slowly to the front of her house and muttered under her voice
"But, Mum never leaves the front door opened. Are they not home?"
She asked herself. There's something wrong. Why will her mum leave home without telling her?
She kept asking herself this questions. Sara locked her car and strode off into the house.
"Mum! Meghan!"
She yelled rushing to every room in the house. The house wasn't so big so her searching didn't take too much time. They were no where to be found. She picked up her phone and tried to call her mother but no response.
She paced around the house gasping for air and tried to calm herself down but this couldn't be real both her mum and sister are missing.
Sara ran back to her car and drove off. It was already 6:00pm by the time and the police were roaming around the streets of tenby to ensure that everyone was indoors. She was panicking badly while driving and didn't have a specific destination she was heading to. She bit down her lower lip and tears streamed down her face.
"Are they dead?"
Sara kept asking herself in her mind and she was wondering why she would be going through all this troubles.
Her palms were soggy and shaky. Her blonde hair glued to her sweaty face.
Two police in their middle ages roaming around sighted a car coming towards them. The two police men stood in the path where Sara was to pass. She stopped the car and slowly came down. Her eyes were extremely red and her shirt was soaked in sweat.
"What are doing outside? It's 6:30pm"
One of the police officers asked
"Ma'am are you sure you are okay? Why are so sweaty"
The other police man asked
Sara felt as if her soul was no longer in her body and she found it very hard to move her lips
"My mum... my sister.. I-I can't find them "
Tears brimmed in Sara eyes at once.
"What do you mean you can't find them"
The two police hoped they'd heard wrong
