My parents always refused to read me out loud, but they never wanted to tell me why. And at the exact moment that I got into the first grade and had to learn how to read, they took me out of school and started teaching me at home, but still they refused to tell me why they never wanted to read me anything and why I wasn't allowed to read anything. But eventually they decided that I was old enough to know the family secret and they told me about the fact that our whole family is gifted with the ability to get sucked into books whenever we read them. Sometimes it's an advantage to be able to do this, because it could make learning more interesting, but other times it's a curse, causing you to experience terrible things, like deaths or abuses. At this moment it's a curse, I made a mistake and now I'm stuck in a terrible book, a book in which I probably will die, as soon as they find out who I am... or rather whát I am: human.
