Chapter 29

Y/N was continuously walking left and right in his room, something eating him up inside.

Not many days ago, Sanemi had reported of a strange eye like thing spying on him. Though he was able to destroy it, the question of whether he was fast enough or not, was still unanswered. Such situations brought the safety of Kagaya above anything else.

But when the Hashiras collectively consulted Gyomei, here is how the confrontation went.

Sanemi: Atleast two Hashiras should be there for bodyguards for Oyakata-sama. Can you do anything about that, Himejima?

Gyomei: No. It is impossible. I became Hashira at 19, and have suggested it for eight years... but he won't listen... He insists that the Hashiras are too precious a resource to expend on him alone. It is a problem.

Y/N: But still...

Shinobu: Apparently, the Ubuyashiki clan hasn't had a bodyguard in ages.

Even so, the risk of Kagaya being left alone when Muzan probably knows the whereabouts of the Hashiras and the Ubuyashiki was way too much.

Crow: EMERGENCY SUMMONS! EMERGENCY SUMMONS! AN ATTACK ON UBUYASHIKI MANSION!

Sword: Master! He's here!

Y/N instantly grabs his sword and places it on his hip.

Y/N: TOTAL CONCENTRATION: CONSTANT!

Y/N gives it all that he had, as he starts to dash towards the Ubuyashiki Mansion at a blinding speed.

Y/N: Oyakata-sama!!! Damnit!

He keeps running until he sees Giyuu and Tanjiro heading there too, as he joins them.

Y/N: QUICK! USE TOTAL CONCENTRATION! TANJIRO! TOMIOKA! BOTH OF YOU!

The two nod as they all start to run as fast as they could.

Y/N: I SEE IT! WE'RE ALMOST THERE! WE'RE ALMOST THE-

A deafening sound of explosives being set off fills the area, as they see nothing, except rubble and debris, where Ubuyashiki mansion stood not many seconds ago.

Y/N: No...! Not again...!

His grip tightens on the sword, as his demon slayer mark makes its way on his chest, and soon, at his face.

Tanjiro: Mr. L-

Before Tanjiro could say anything, Y/N dashes forward, followed by Giyuu, and soon, by Tanjiro.

-flashback-

We see footprints on thick white snow, as the footprints are found out to belong to a boy, who was easily a young teenager, as he suddenly starts to run to something.

The boy gets on his knees as he picks up a dove, who looked injured near his belly, as the boy's Prussian eyes dart around to find shelter.

The boy then gets up and runs under some rubble, as he takes his haori off, places it on the ground, as we see a sword tied to his chest and back with ropes.

He puts the bird on the haori, as he shields the dove from the blister, not caring about his nose running from the cold, as he takes a small cotton piece, he then pours some antiseptic in a small bowl, and pours some warm water in it.

He then mixes the two, and dips the cotton in the lotion.

Y/N: Shhh... It's going to be okay...

The boy, now identified as Y/N, gently rubs the antiseptic on the dove's wounds, making the bird flatter his wings in pain, but instantly calm down, once Y/N starts to gently run his finger through the dove's head.
