Max's POV

I had put my clothes on and I was seeking out of the hospital. I got out of the door and made my way going in between the cars and watching behind me to make sure no one was coming, then I would run like hell to my house.

I got close to my house to notice a cop car sitting outside of the house. I look to see a cop looking around the grounds to make sure I wasn't there. I watch him walk back to his car and drove off. I took this as my chance to get in and grab what ever I could.

I was in my old bedroom and I grabbed my oodie and other clothes. I went over to the corner of my room and left up the floor bed and pulled out all the money I had hidden. I got up and grabbed my bags and headed into the kitchen. I grabbed all the can food and other things that would last awhile. I made sure to also grab lighters and lighter fluid.

When I was almost done I heard a vehicle pull up and I was hoping it would go away.

Jay's POV

I had pulled up to Max's house and got out of my truck and went to the front door. I opened it to see Max standing there ready to run at any moment. I tried to walk closer to him but he walked back "you you you told me I could trust you!" He snapped at me "trust me I would adopted you in a heartbeat but I was working your case and now you run away from the hospital Max." I was keeping a calm voice, that's when Hank walked in from behind me "Max listen to me" Hank put his hand out "shut up and stay where you are or I'll run!" He was ready and I couldn't blame him for doing it "the case it's over you're safe and Jay wants you to be with a safe, happy and loving family" Hank took a step and Max took two back "I don't want anyone else I want the man who said he would be my dad!" He was crying and breaking down. I took a step to see what he would do and he just ran up to me and hugged me tight "please don't make me go to that horrible place!" I could feel my shirt getting wet from his tears. I walked us to my truck and put him in the passenger side.

Max's POV

I was know sitting in Jay's truck with my knees brought right up to my chest. I heard the truck door open and closed "hey it's going to be alright now I'm going to take you with me to the district ok?" I just nodded my head and put my hoodie on.

Jay had walked me up to a place they call the bull pin. He put me in the break room and I just sat there with my head down so know one could see who I was.

Jay's POV

"Come on he's a teen boy who needs me!" Me and Hailey had gotten into a fight over Max "I don't want kids Jay and what's he going to do just run up the power bill?!" I really just wanted her to see the boy I know "please Hailey if you got to know him like I have you'll see why I'm doing this". I hate begging "call or I'll call" she walked away from me.

I had walked into the break room and told Max the bad news but I told him I'll come and visit him as much as I could. That's when the lady showed up "come on Max let's get you home" she was so welcoming. I watch Max get up and was about to leave the break room but instead he hugged me and I hugged him back. When we let go he wanted to say something "don't come visit me because it's going to be too hard on the both of us". And with that Max was out of my life the only kid I actually liked gone in a heartbeat.
