"Yaar Please. Tu jis bhi bhagwaan ko dil se maanti hain unke liye, sirf unke liye yeh gaana baand karde."
Peering ahead at the darkening clouds, Manisha pays attention to more important matters. Like a back-up plan in case they can't reach their intended destination.
'Aur tujhe question hain k kiu main humesha apne Enfield pe ghumta hu, at least usme koi audio player to nahi hain. ' Abhishek grumbles, but Manisha is hell bent on ignoring him.
She and Abhishek planned this trip on a whim and there was a reason they didn't often plan trips on a whim - mainly because you never have time to think things through.
Mind you it's Abhishek who is the rational-thinking one, not Manisha. Manisha tends to jump with her heart first instead of her more sensible head hence they find themselves in this very situation.
'Sun bhi rahi hain kuch ?'
Abhishek can be so arrogant when he wants to be. He really needs to work on that.
'Suna humne, baas- '
The clouds get darker the further on they drive.
'humein kuch thik sa nahi lag raha.'
'kis bare mein?' Abhishek finally pauses the player. He's been wanting to turn the damn thing off since Manisha blared Wildest Dreams for the 10th time. He doesn't know since when Manisha started to listen to Taylor Swift and how she got so obsessed with her every damn song, plus why this one in particular has got to be her favorite from the bunch??
She may be the best friend he's ever had but he is going to be honest about this and that is her taste in music sucks.
'oyee..hum sun rahe the na baand kahe kar diya...'
"Yaar Manisha. Premium mein lakho gaane milte hain and tu yahi same gaana last teen ghante se repeat mein bajaye ja rahi hain. '
Manisha realises he may have a point. They have a premium subscription of the app which has access to million songs around the world, there's no reason she needs to play the same song and album over and over as much as she may love it.
There's no reason for that and there's certainly no reason to tell her bestie it's him she thinks of every time she sings the lyrics.
He's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins
My one condition is..Nope, no reason whatsoever.
'Achaaa thik hain... Sorry... Chahe to kuch aur gaana laga de par humein lagta hain is waqt ispe matha marne se zyada bara problem kuch aur bhi hain.'
Manisha points on ahead, Abhishek notices that traffic has definitely slowed in the short time they've been talking.
'Samne kuch huya lagta hain.' seeing the long line of cars waiting for more than 15 minutes now, it's evident that something's not right.
'Hmm waisa hi to lag raha hain.. Ruk ek minute.'
Flicking the radio over to a local station Abhishek cranks the volume. It's then they hear about the land slide news and realises that it's a one way road they are in.
