On my way to home, as always I am listening to Taylor Swift. It feels like she writes only to sooth my soul.
Sigh...
I just finished my last mission to escort the minister to and from the so called restricted area. At this point I really have no Idea what am I even playing for. I want to quit it all .
My phone vibrates all of sudden, breaking my string of thoughts. I pick up and a milky voice rushes out,
"When will you be home, mommy, we've been waiting for a whole eternity now? "
I couldn't help but break out in giggling, My babies are getting good with their words now.
"I'll be there soon, sweeties."And after hanging up the call I sped up towards my home.
Yeah. My home , where my babies are waiting for me.
As I reach home, two little furballs couldn't wait to jump on me. This feeling, only for this, I continued to be. There every gesture fills my empty void of heart, makes me feel little like a human that I left to die.
"Mom, we cooked today, let's have dinner, okay? My stomach is making sound for so long already." Nova, my little daughter makes me know the facts.
"Get freshen up first! I'll set the dinner. "Jenna, my caretaker and now my kid's, says with a smile. And I realise she's getting old too.
How desperately I wish to hold tight onto this fleeting time.
The twins were telling me how their days went when I was out for my "duty". It breaks my heart to know how fast they're growing up.
As I was all set to have a good night's rest, my damned phone makes noise.
I don't wanna pick up the call.But it keeps ringing. Goodness gracious! I don't know about other things, but first I am really gonna quit this job. I pick up the call at last.
" Lieutenant colonel Carol smith!
I am glad it didn't take you decade to pick up the call" General Bluport says with his usual sarcasm.
" I am glad it makes you happy sir, but what business do you have with me when I am on leave now? "
" The Davenshore ship's case is opened again, and I want you to handle it."
