Two days passed , mission day is finally here.

You stood putting on your helmet and fixing your vest that was given to you and you eagerly strapped on your knee and arm pads and you tied your boots quickly. You jogged down the hallway and made your way to Graves' office to see him geared up as well and he looked down at you.
'' follow me.''
He spoke in a firm tone and you nodded.
You followed him down the hallway and through a corridor and you walked quietly but eagerly.
Graves looked at you for a moment , he couldn't lie to himself and say that he wasn't proud of you.

He was proud of you. He made that clear before but it was hard to admit it to himself. Graves tended to be a very firm yet cocky person but now he was all mush just because of you. You were his daughter now , well more so his ward. He would have to go through a very full and long process to adopt you but he knew once things were officially over he knew he would fully do it.
You deserved normal life but it seems you have the fight of a soldier.

Other shadows were geared up and started heading onto a large helicopter , the black hawk UH/HH 60. It was all blacked out and ready for use. You stood close to graves as you knew it was time for business and simply followed his lead since he didn't give much info on the mission to you yet.
'' Loaders get your rounds in the can.''
He commanded in an authoritative tone towards one of the gunners.
'' yes commander.''
The gunner complied in a stern tone as he set the rounds up and did his job.
The lighting was red but it wasn't dark enough to cloud your vision. As you looked around with the red lighting you took in your surroundings and you got excited.
'' my very first mission holy shit...''
You muttered to yourself only for one of the shadows to smirk at you.

Other shadows smirked while others got ready and prepared and loaded up for the mission.
'' you sure your ready for this kid?.''
The gunner looked at you as he loaded rounds.
''Yes sir.''
You say with a smirk and he chuckles before continuing loading the rounds.
'' stay close to me y/n i will explain the mission quickly to you , were checking for a weapons cache and looking for weapons , just leave it to us and stick by alright.''
He said firmly and you nodded.

''Nav set a heading for that compound.''
Graves' voice rang out.
'' roger that''
Nav spoke as he set out for the location.
'' fire officer keep a hand on that hot switch , were just getting started here.''
Graves pointed at the FCO's screens as he was managing the radars and such above.
'' solid copy.''
The FCO replied as he worked.
You watched as the FCO did his job and you looked around as you were in the helicopter and you followed graves as he walked passed and kept managing and commanding everyone around making sure everything was going smooth and steady.

'' Pilot, you have the can. Once on station circle the target and bring us around.''
He said in an authoritative and firm tone as the pilot said 'sir'.
'' comm get me general shepherd.''

You looked up at graves before thinking and choosing your words carefully before speaking.
'' Wait, who exactly is shepherd again?..''
You questioned as you looked up at graves again before averting your gaze and scanning your eyes over everything else that was going on.
'' he's the supreme commander of the u.s military''
He replied to you , his southern liker accent coming through more.
You nodded as you thought about the answer he gave and you. You knew shepherd was important since he was running things and was general but you thought about why.

'' roge stand by.'
Comms OFC spoke as graves leaned in and looked at the screen before the two of them.
'' shepherds up sir''
Comms spoke up as he was looking over raiders and such on his screen the illuminated a light green light mixing with the red light making a sort of lightish orange color near the screens.
'' gold eagle actual ,this is shadow 1 how copy ?''
He spoke into a speaker before getting a response back.
'' loud and clear shadow 1 , send traffic.''
The general's voice came through  the speaker, slightly mechanical.
'' i had to bail your boys out , luckily they have friends in high places.''
Graves spoke up again and he looked down at you to make sure you were okay.

'' that's what you're there for , tell me somethin' good.''
Shepherd spoke in a slightly annoyed tone.
'' We got a hit on Hassan , approaching the target location now. Well get that bastard rolled up for a little talkin too''
Graves answered back.
'' that's what I like to hear. Report back when hassans in the bag.''
Shepherd asserted.
'' Roger that. Out here''
Graves finished before looking down at you and putting his hands on his vest straps before speaking to the other soldiers in the chopper.

'' all shadows listen up , even you y/n''
His voice bellowed before he patted your shoulder.
'' These guys on the ground , Mexican special forces , 141 , they are your brothers now. You treat em like your own and let's get this done yeah ? you also treat y/n just the same''
Graves' voice boomed thoroughly out and you nodded with the other soldiers.
'' yup yup!''

'' alright''
Graves kneeled down to you before fixing your helmet straps and vest for you.
'' We have your back , and the others do as well. Just stick close and here.''
He pulled a black compound bow from behind his back and you gave an excited smile.
'' woah thats my weapon ?!''
You exclaimed and he nodded.
'' it is but you only use it when needed alright , don't go around shooting just anyone.''
he smirked at you before handing you the bow and patting your helmet.

The missions here ,  full of dangers and unknown but new faces are coming down the row.
