I guess we should start with one of the problems that some new atheists have: what are they?
Even though labels are just a part of you (and don't actually tell 100 % who you are), is easier to say what you are, rather than giving the explanation. For this chapter, I'll use the "Dawkins scale" used by Richard Dawkins in his book "The God Delusion."
Gnostic theist: they believe in God, and are 100 % sure that he exists. Therefore, they don't question his existence.
De-facto theist: they believe in God, but they can't know for certain.
Agnostic theist: they believe in God, but are doubtful about his existence.
Agnostic atheist: doesn't believe in God, but thinks his existence is probable.
De-facto atheist: doesn't believe in God, but thinks his existence is improbable.
Gnostic atheist: doesn't believe in God, and thinks that it's 100 % sure that he doesn't exist.
I believe no one should be a gnostic. It's ignorant and close minded to be gnostic. As an atheist, I'm open to this topic. If someone gives me evidence of any god, I'll stop being an atheist. But, I may not follow that deity.
Besides this spectrum, there's other type of labels you could use. I won't put them here, because not all atheists fall ok those labels. But, an example could be: freethinkers, skeptics, secular, secular humanists, Laveyan Satanists (no, they don't worship Satan), etc.
