The trees colours were changing and the temperature was becoming more ideal for sweaters. Autumn is here.

"Coffee! I need Coffee!" Lorelai stormed into Luke's diner, her two kids following behind her.
"Yes we need coffee!" Barty joined in.
"Hey Luke." Smiled Rory.
"Can't you try tea for once?" Luke scoffed while all the three Gilmore's begun to sit down at the bar.
"Not a chance." Lorelai smiled. Luke poured her coffee.

Barty wondered how long would they keep on pretending that they don't have feelings for eachother, he exchanged a look with Rory but didn't say anything.

"So? What is new?" Lorelai asked Luke.
"Besides the fact that my sister's son is coming to live with me, nothing much, you?" Luke answered matter of factly.

After explaining further, Lorelai suggested that they can make a welcome to the neighborhood dinner at their place tomorrow for him.

Jess, that's his name.

Barty wasn't really excited about the idea, but he also wasn't irritated, he simply didn't really care, there was always someone at their house and if there wasn't anyone, they usually just watched the same movies over and over and ate icecream for dinner and drank tons of lemon soda. Barty wondered how is it that they're still healthy and fit, considering their eating habits.

Barty had his room next to Rory's and it was very similar, lots of books and a pretty bed, a radio and a table and a mirror. But there wasn't any Harvard merch, and the books were slightly different from Rory's, a lot of them fantasy, but usually he and Rory exchanged books and annotated it, so they had similar taste, just different bookshelves.
Intead of Harvard merch, he had band posters hung all over his room and there was a piano and a guitar in his room.
He, Rory and Lane were best friends ever since day-care and he and Lane always planned to have a band in the future, Rory would make them famous by writing about them in the newspaper. They had it all planned out.

It was a chilly autumn evening, the day after the announcement of a Jess something coming into town. Barty was playing a song he wrote with Lane on the piano, trying to make it even better than it already is, unaware of the time, in his own little music world. He didn't even notice a boy leaning on his doorframe.

"Bowie?" He asks.

"Nope." I put my hands behind my head, trying to hide the fact that he scared me a little.

"Who's it then?" He steps into the room and begins to look at my books.

"Bit of an underground artist, not sure if you know them." I grin a little.

"Expand my knowledge then."

"Hep Alien."  I say.

He nods.

"You and your sister are quite the bookworms."

"Yeah, you read?"

"Not much."

I nod.

His hair is dark brown, he's a bit taller than me and his hands are in the pockets of his leather jacket.

"So you're Jess?"

"Yep. You're Barty then."

"That would be me." I chuckle awkwardly.

He makes his way to my window and opens it. "Let's get out of here?"

"What? No, Sookie has been preparing this dinner since like 5pm."

"I'm not really fond of these group dinners." He makes a face.

"Well, it's just one dinner, I'm sure you can manage that and then you won't have to talk to us ever again, alright?" I close the window.

He nods.

The dinner goes quite well, Jess isn't talking much, says like three sentences through the whole dinner, but at least he's there.
