Chapter 10 - I Need You

Katniss' POV
The Next Day

This punishment is so bad. I usually spent most of my day crying and hugging pillows. My mother is a fucking bitch for punishing me like that. Peeta is all I need. He needs me as much as I need him and I'm sure he's crying too. We both need each other. I never felt this way with anyone not even Gale. I knew he had feelings for me but I only liked him as a brother. I just lay in bed. Prim knows how this is hurting me but she wouldn't bother me. As I was going to yell Peeta's name, Prim bursts into my room. "Katniss." She yells. " I went to Peeta's house to visit him and I saw him so sad, so desperate to see you I suppose. But do you know he has a cousin my age that is so hot?" (Author's Note: Let it be this way not that Rory). "Primmy has a boyfriend," I tease. I smirk and started laughing. Mom would kill her if she found out Prim liked someone. "Shut up," she says smiling. "I need to see him,"I whine. "Someone's whinny," she says. "Look," I know it's hard. I didn't even talk to Peeta's cousin yet and I don't know his name. He doesn't even know my name so he's not a boyfriend."

Damn. I wish that happened tho I wonder what Peeta's cousin looks like. Probably Blond hair and Blue eyes. "Yep," she answers my thought. Damn, I said that aloud. My thoughts are stupid really.  I wonder if the cousin or whoever has a nice personality. If he's going to be Prim's boyfriend, he should be kind. "Don't worry Katniss," Prim says interrupting my thoughts again. Arghhh. Why does this happen a lot? I don't know.

Prim liking a boy is a whole new level for me. Prim in the future will beba  great loving person. As I was going to leave Prim on her own, I hear my mother. "Katniss!" She calls. I went downstairs with Prim and there she was waiting for me. "Look, I'm going on vacation for a week and you're in charge. I have a few rules, no parties, you are not allowed to see Peeta or the family, and I think that's it. Bye now." Her voice seems serious but me and Prim look at each other and nod thinking of some plan forming. As my mother leaves, Prim says something. "Let's go visit Peeta and his family." "Yes," I respond.

We were going to do this. We were on our way there and since Peeta's family live next door, it was easy to get there. Prim knocks on the door and easily Peeta opens the door. "Katniss! Prim!" He greets us. "Come in. I just made cookies and if you want some, you are more than welcome." I smile at the thought. "Peeta!" I yell hugging him. He hugs me back of course with so much passion. Prim goes in and I see a boy looking about Prim's age talking to Peeta's dad. "That's my cousin," Peeta says. "He's a gentleman but he's got a girlfriend."

Oh. The thought just crushes me. Prim won't get the guy of her dreams and I feel awful. "Oh," I whisper in his ear. "You know, Prim sort of likes him." He looks at me with joy. "I ship them," he tells me. I chuckle at the words. "What about his girlfriend?" I ask. "She's sweet and nice," he replies. Is she? I have so many negative comments. She must be pretty. "What's her name?" I ask. "Juliana" he answers. "And the cousin?" I add. "Ryan," he says. Ryan and Juliana. Cute. Ryan and Primrose. Flawless.

Primrose's POV

I see Katniss and Peeta talking and smiling.  I am so glad that they are together. Maybe Peeta moving in is fate for Katniss to date. I ship them too much. As I see Peeta's cousin reading, a pretty brunette comes in. "Ryan!" The girl squeals. "Juliana hey!" He calls excited. They run to each other and share a big hug and have a quick peck on the lips. Oh so Peeta's cousin Ryan has a girlfriend. I should probably back off. "Hey," are you okay?" Juliana asks me. I never knew this girl would be talking to me. "Yeah," I lie. "Just fine." I'm really not.

"So, do you think Ryan is cute?" She asks me. What the hell did she ask? Is she teasing me? Or it could be something else. "I don't know," I lie again. I don't want to admit it. It will be weird to see what her response is. Ryan picked a nice girl with nice brown hair and gorgeous green eyes. Who wouldn't fall for a person like that? Look at me, blond hair and stupid blue eyes. Katniss always said that my eyes were gorgeous but she is wrong.

As Juliana leaves, Ryan comes up to me and looks at me shyly. "Are you okay?" He asks. "Yes," I lie. "Don't lie," he said. "I can tell when you are lying." Shit. I didn't know. "I'm Primrose but Prim for short," I introduced myself. "Ryan," he says. "I know, I kind of saw you with Juliana," I get out. "Oh," he says sadly. "Are you okay with it?" I really think he's a good guy. But what do I say? "Ummm..." I stammer. Instead of answering, I run home crying. Katniss, Peeta, and Ryan calls for me but I yelled out the word home. I went there as fast as I can crashing into my room and letting the tears flow. I was heartbroken. Being in love was hard and I regret it.
