Cuphead's Pov

I ran downstairs to open the diner. I was a little late but no one was waiting anyways. Were approaching autumn which means the towns going to go nuts with decorations and festivals.

I don't mind the festivals and stuff it's just the noise. Good luck trying to take a nap around this time of year. Christmas is far worse. They have like five festivals all throughout the month of December.

A few customers came in around morning time. Ordered some coffee and eggs then took off at a blink of an eye. It wasn't until the lunch rush where things got hectic.

Orders came piling in and our waiters were running around like mad men. I've never cooked so fast in my life. Just when I thought that things were slightly calming down a boy runs in like a bat outta hell.

He hopped on one of the stools and made a dramatic turn. "I need coffee stat". He seemed hyper enough, I'm worried if I give him a cup of coffee he'll explode. "It'll take a minute we're slammed" I said handing off plates to the servers.

"I need coffee like now, I don't care how you give it to me, shoot it through an IV for all I care." He began to ramble on and on. "Give us a second, nut job." Okay maybe I shouldn't of called him a nut job but he was a nut job.

He kept playing with the straws and sugar packets. It was like he couldn't sit still. I poured his cup of coffee and gave it to him. "Here and sorry for calling you a nut job." He smiled and chugged his coffee.

He didn't even add creamer or sugar, he just drank it straight. When he was done he grabbed a mini note pad and wrote something on it. He ripped off the sheet of paper, folded it and placed it on the counter. "It's good luck" he said. He paid for his coffee and ran off.

I grabbed the piece of paper and put it in my pocket. I ran around cooking and helping out the servers. After a few hours our lunch rush was over. We had a few people swing by for dinner and order our specials.

I couldn't get that boy outta my mind. He was obnoxious sure but something about his demeanor interested me. The servers clocked out and went home. I closed the diner and headed upstairs to my apartment. I remembered the piece of paper the boy gave me. I pulled it out and read it. "Give him coffee and he goes away." He sure is something.

I slipped into my pajamas and went to bed. I low-key hoped that I would see that boy again.
