Your Closed Room

Our lives are like two sides of the world

Different in all that it holds

Your room is closed while mine is not

My room is locked while yours is caught

I want to close mine

But you want to open yours

Yet no matter how hard I push the door, it will not close

And no matter how hard you pull, it does not budge

Our problems lie on opposite sides of a spectrum

In perfect balance

Your love is ill-defined

It cannot be received and it cannot be given

Locked in the shackles of loneliness

Begging for an embrace, a warm fire to melt your icy heart

A key to unlock your closed room

But there is no keyhole at your door

No windows to find light

And I wish I could be in your closed room

Tired of warmth, of light

I wish to be worn down by loneliness

You crave for those that leave every single day

Yet mine do not leave

While you starve I am stuffed

While you only cry alone I cannot seem to find a place alone to cry

I wish to fade into the shadows as my presence is demanded

As I must emerge every single day

Solitude is what you have

If only we could switch

Yet I find myself once again in my opened room

And you are once again trapped in your closed room.
