The Blacks were known for many things. Their long bloodline. Their power. Their constellation names. But, what they were most known for were two simple facts.
One, that they were a long line of vampires.
And two, that their two eldest had run away to seek refuge at the home of known bloodtraitors.
Artemis Black, the eldest, was the quietest. She never stood out or made a big difference in her school. She was known for her intelligence. But also for her lack of socialization.
She never felt as if she fit into Gryffindor Tower as her twin brother, Sirius, did. She didn't have the bravery or the chivalry.
Little did she know in a little over four years she would do the most brave thing a girl could ever do for someone she loves.
