The sun begins to set over the horizon, signaling the beginning of nightfall.
"8:00 P.M"
Above the deserted city streets of Detroit, Michigan, squadrons of Vehicon fliers soar past, scanning the area for any Autobots or human survivors.
Beneath a nearby overpass, Sari hides behind a concrete pillar and occasionally peeks from behind cover to ensure that the coast is clear.
"Well?" Asked a voice.
Sari looks back at Agent Simmons who was still in his USAF fighter pilot uniform.
Sari: Not yet!
Agent Simmons: Are you kidding me? We can't just sit here forever!
Sari: We can't just run out into the open either! They'll be sure to find us then!
Agent Simmons: *Sigh*
Suddenly, a van full of human survivors speeds past and drives out into the open.
A Vehicon flier is in hot pursuit as it fires its blasters.
The driver of the van swerves from side to side, avoiding incoming fire.
The Vehicon launches a pair of missiles, hitting its target as the van was thrown into the air by the first explosion before being blown to bits.
Sari: Oh my God!
Agent Simmons: DAMNIT!
The agent punches a nearby wall out of sheer frustration before taking a seat on the ground.
Agent Simmons: Damnit.
Sari: You okay?
Agent Simmons: "...."
Sari: Simmons?
Agent Simmons: Not now.
Sari: I...I understand.
Sari resumes her post and continues to keep her eyes peeled for Decepticon activity.
Meanwhile in an abandoned parking garage down the street, a familiar blue and orange GMC Sierra 1500 sits in its space.
Across the garage, a pair of headlights flash, catching the truck's attention as a cherry red sports car cruises over.
Knockout: I never would've thought I'd be saying, but boy am I glad to see you, Sentinel Prime! You have no idea...
Sentinel Prime: *Whispering* Pipe down! They're right outside!
Knockout: *Whispering* Sorry.
Knockout parks alongside Sentinel.
Knockout: So, I just need to know. How exactly did you make it out? We all thought you...y'know!
Sentinel Prime: Well, either the cons' aim is lousier than ever, or I'm just one lucky son of a glitch!
*Flashback*
