chapter 8: kiss and say goodbye

After a couple of bad days, the guys are on their way to the record studio to have a meeting with skyler about a new tour. They make it to a conference room where Skyler and a random guy are sitting and waiting for them. There is a bit of silence in the room as the guys sit down. Anthony decides to have the courage to speak.

Anthony: alright sky, I'll bite. Who's this guy? And are we gonna get down to business or not?

Skyler: Let me explain, ok so you know how you guys signed a contract with me and I promised to get you guys more money?

Murray: let me guess, we're making less than what we hoped for?

Skyler: no, we're making a lot. It's just you guys aren't living up to your end of the bargain. You know with the tours and albums.

Jeff: But we're still in school, plus we just don't feel like it.

Skyler: feel like it?

Randal: don't blame him, he's going through some things.

Murray: he's trying to cope with the fact he dated his girlfriend's long lost twin sister.

Anthony: ACE!!

Jeff: It's whatever, anyway who's the guy?

The guy's name was Jerry Jones, and no it's not the owner of the Dallas cowboys. It just so happens that he has the same name. Jerry is a big guy with curly hair. He's here to be a part of the magic.

Skyler: boys, this is Jerry, he's a keyboardist and i asked him for his help.

Randal: what for?

Skyler: ok so at a couple of your older concerts, i noticed anthony was rushing to either the keyboards or his guitar, so i figured hire someone to play the keys while Anthony sticks to rhythm guitar.

Jerry: I know I may not look like tribute band material, but I promise I'll do my best.

Jeff: cause that's the best you can do. You're in. Welcome to nebula454!

Randal: So just like that he's in?

Anthony: Why not? We need another keyboardist anyway.

Murray: yeah, maybe now we can play some of the cockies songs.

Jerry: cockies?

Anthony: The cockroaches is what he means. They were an Australian rock band that made feel good rock music. They're music went on to transform into the songs for The Wiggles.

Jerry: oh ok.

And with that, the guys get a new member for the band, but he's not a permanent member yet. After that meeting, the guys take time to practice, and teach Jerry the piano parts of songs. He manages to get the music down note for note, and he even has the right pitch to sing along with the guys. Now that the easy part is over, it's time to find places that will let them play. During their old tours, they would play pubs, clubs, parks, bars, and even motels. Now with their new manager, they play mostly pubs, shopping centers, theaters, centers and even six flags for a bit. And as skyler promised, there was more pay, and a lot of time to take a break. After 2 months of touring and 2 weeks of break, skyler asks the guys to finally make an album again, but this time they have a request: to let it be their last album for now. Skyler agrees and lets them plan for the album. The guys are sitting in the living room planning.

Anthony: so we know we need to add some different songs into the mix other than the other kiss songs we did.

Murray: We should do some by acdc or the cockroaches again.
