chapter 9: forever

The guys are preparing to film a music video for one of the songs on their final album. They chose the song: forever from kiss. They get together in a space, and set up for filming. Considering it was one of the songs that Randal had to play bass on, Jeff just sat on the stool and pretended to sing while John took Randal's place on the drums. Todd taught Murray how to play the guitar solo for the song since Murray never played it. They recreate the same shots for the video, but they don't change themselves into black and white. After a couple of hours of filming, it's time to leave, and Anthony leaves to go hang with his girlfriend for a bit. Everyone else packs their instruments and the others leave in the truck. They make it home, and Jeff looks at his phone with a bunch of notifications from Angela. He goes to his room and just looks at the messages. Some say she's worried and feels like something is wrong. He stops looking and just sits and thinks for a second. Ever since Kumi came to his house, and then finding out Angela is her sister, he's been questioning life. Will he have to break up with Angela to make everybody happy? Will he still date her? There's no telling what will happen. Jeff decides to go ask Murray and Randal for their advice. First, he goes to Murray, and explains his situation.

Murray: So you don't know what to do?

Jeff: no...I'm really lost..

Murray: well...i always figured, when it comes to love, you gotta know the person deeply and philosophically. And you gotta have that feeling deep down in your gut that you want to be with the girl forever.

Jeff: I guess in a way I have that gut feeling that Angela may be the one.

Murray: there you go then, she's the one for you, but you might wanna see what Randal has to say.

And so he does, after explaining to Randal, Randal thinks for a moment before he says anything.

Randal: Jeff, what do you want to do? Do you want to keep being with her as boyfriend and girlfriend or something different?

Jeff: I don't know, it's just that whenever I was with her, it's like I felt whole again. It feels different like she makes me laugh and smile, yeah she shows me love and whatnot, but with kumi it was like a lustful love. With Angela it's like happiness and sarcasm. I don't know, maybe it feels like I want to marry her....wait? I want to marry her? I WANT TO MARRY HER!!!

Randal: and the answer has been revealed.

Jeff: How should I propose to her?

Randal: you need to think of that on your own, but remember to do it how you think you should, just be yourself and it'll either go really well, or it'll go terribly

Jeff: thanks Randal

Jeff leaves

Randal: something tells me it's gonna go wrong.

Jeff goes on a shopping spree for supplies. He gets a picnic blanket, picnic basket, food, juice, cake, and a ring to fit Angela's finger. Afterwards, he gets a suit and clip on tie ready for the occasion. He then proceeds to call up Angela and tells her to meet him at the park. After a while, Angela goes there and sees a picnic all set up and ready.

Jeff: Hey Angela.

Angela: Hey Jeff, what's all this about?

Jeff: I'll tell you in a second, for now let's eat!

And so, they start eating the food Jeff made. It mostly consisted of sandwiches and some fruit salad. They finally finish eating and Jeff pulls out the cake that's in a box.

Angela: Dang, cake too? This must be an exciting reason why I'm here.

As Angela opens the box, she reads the frosting as it says " look to your left". She does so and sees Jeff kneeling down.

Angela: Jeff! What are you doing?!

Jeff: Angela, when I first met you, I felt happy, happier than I ever have been. After that bullcrap with Kumi, I realized something...you are the one for me, and I love you so much. So what I'm trying to say is...Angela, will you marry me?

Angela stares and blushes, she doesn't really know what to say...until she does

Angela: no.

Jeff: no?

Angela: Jeff, I want you to think for a second. We're still young, why would we get married now all of a sudden? Not to mention I'm about to move away so dating will be tougher than usual. Nevermind the fact that you've been avoiding my texts and now all of a sudden you want to marry me?

Jeff:....yes?

Angela: Jeff......i...i can't anymore. I think we should take a break...

Jeff: no...you don't mean that...

Angela: I mean it..

Jeff: but...fine..screw this

Jeff gets up and leaves everything. Angela sits there, grabs everything, throws them away, and leaves. As jeff walks up the carport, Randal is waiting for him with a cake.

Jeff: How long have you been here?

Randal: I just got out here, I got you this cake.

Randal shows him the top of the cake which says " I'm sorry Jeff".

Jeff: sigh* I can't believe she dumped me..

Randal: that's what happens when you don't reply to a girl's texts.

Jeff: It's not my fault I can't make up my mind.

Randal: I know, I'm sorry about your break up. These things happen, you know.

Jeff: I wish they didn't...

Randal: we all do.
