"I still don't think it's a good idea for you to spend the night with me, Jennie. What would Aunty Kyo think if she knew you were seducing me tonight?" Lisa asked her, not daring to move an inch from where he was seated.
He heard Jennie scoff next to him before hitting the pause button on her phone, placing it on his nightstand.
"Too late. Mama knows I've been coming here these few nights." She informed him. She supposed that her mother might have expected that this would happen.
Lisa almost groaned when he heard that. He didn't want Hye Kyo to think that he was taking advantage of her daughter in her own home. He might need to apologize to her later, just in case Jennie managed to seduce him tonight.
"Would you have said no?" He suddenly asked, leaving Jennie confused this time.
She turned her head to look up at his face. "Say no to what?"
What was he even talking about? She couldn't understand.
His eyes then shifted to the small branch of peach blossom resting on her chest, its pink floral design made from the finest pink diamonds. This heirloom was meant to be owned only by the wife of the head of the Manobannfamily. Lisa knew the implications of giving this to her.
"To be engaged to me and to be my wife." He started. "When I gave this to you, did you say yes because you truly want to be or…"
"Or what?" Jennie cut him, as she looked at him with a deep frown on her face.
Did you think that you couldn't turn me down at that moment?"
Lisa had been holding this thought for some time now, ever since Jennie accepted his indirect proposal for marriage.
Jennie stared at him for a long time, and he felt a little unnerved by it. Did she regret it now?
"Don't be silly, Lisa. I accepted it because I love you. There's no reason for me to turn you down when I know that I cannot be without you now."
Lisa was stunned hearing her answer. It was the first time she had vocally admitted that she loved him, and he was floored. He kissed her once, kissed her twice, then quickly grabbed her around the waist to move her onto his lap to get them into a more comfortable position as he continued to kiss her.
Jennie's lashes fluttered as he continued to kiss her. His hands moved to her jawline before sliding into her hair. She noticed that Lisa liked touching her, especially her hair. She would love to tease him about his obsession with her long hair, but she didn't want to risk the chance of him stopping as her punishment.
Truth be told, she quite enjoyed his touch and wasn't repulsed by it.
He slanted her mouth over hers, quietly letting out a long breath through his nose as she softly mewled against his. She then shivered when his hands started wandering over her legs, then moved further down her back as he held her closely.
Jennie forced herself to pull away, aware of their precarious position on his bed.
His hands stopped abruptly and with slightly glazed eyes, Lisa looked at her. The look of her flushed face as she heaved for breath made him smile. Pressing his forehead against hers, he smiled genuinely and whispered.
"Jennie, I love you. No matter how many lifetimes we live, I will only love you."
He heard Jennie softly chuckled, smiling at him in return.
"That's quite reassuring, Mr. Manoban." She grinned at him, patting his shoulder lightly. "Anyway, I came here to discuss something Mama mentioned to me earlier."
