It was a dark, misty night on October 19th, 2002 in Norwalk, Connecticut. There was a group of friends who loved to go on vacation. There was the mom of the group, Kylee. The shy/new girl, Deahna. The sad/happy girl, Laila. And the lonely boy, Kenny.
It was Kylee's turn to pick the vacation spot, so they went to her parents' mansion. Kylee told her friends to bring clothes and personal necessities. She already planned on what they were going to eat at the mansion. They had a sleepover at Kylee's house the day before they arrived at the mansion.
They all got the amount of sleep they needed and went off to the mansion the next morning. As soon as they got into the car, Deahna looked at the latest news stories and saw that a person escaped from a psychiatric hospital.
"Okay I know i'm paranoid but let's lock all the doors tonight" Deahna said nervously. They made it to their destination and put all their stuff away and celebrated their first day there. When Kenny and Deahna were talking in the living room and Lalia was in the bathroom Kylee laced the drink with Rohypnol.They all ended up getting drunk and fell asleep at around 1:26 am.
While they were asleep, around 3 am, Deahna awoke to a loud BANG! coming from the front yard. She got up, grabbed her phone and turned on her flashlight. She opened the door and looked around. She saw nothing but darkness. She heard a loud stomp in the leaves and immediately slammed the door and locked it. She was too terrified to go to sleep and sat in the corner of the room looking around. She then heard a giggle coming from the room behind her. She had no idea who else was in the house. She was too scared to get up and started to cry. She started to feel dizzy and couldn't concentrate on her surroundings. She started feeling drowsy as her eyes slowly closed and then she passed out.
It was the afternoon when Laila awoke. Her head hurt from the previous night but she was fully sober. Her stomach growled with hunger and she got up to go to the kitchen to find some food. She turned around before going in the kitchen and saw Deahna in the corner of the room. Laila yelled "DEAHNA!", she ran to Deahna and tried to wake her up.
Kylee awoke from the scream and forgot where she was for a second; then she saw Laila crying and trying to shake Deahna awake. Kylee ran over to the corner of the room and told Laila to get a cup of water.
"What's that going to do?!" Laila asked.
"JUST TRUST ME!" Kylee answered in a loud, stern voice.
Laila went to get the cup of water but tripped over Kenny's body in the kitchen. She screamed of fear and then Kenny awoke.
"What happened?" Kenny questioned.
"No time to explain, just help Kylee with Deahna, Laila answered as she got water. She ran back to Deahna and the rest of them and Kylee grabbed the water and threw it on Deahna.
Deahna awoke with a gasp. "W-What happened?" she said with fear.
Then she started to cry and started over exaggerating when she said "Am I dying?".
The friends looked at each other and all shook their heads no.
"Can someone please explain to me what happened?" Kenny asked.
They all stared at Deahna. Deahna felt like she was put on the spot and continued sobbing. Kylee's face brightened when she realized there were cameras in the house.
"Wait Deahna, calm down, we can just go check the cameras," Kylee faced the rest of the group, "There's a room in the basement with the monitor. But to be honest I'm kinda scared to go down there alone, can you guys come with me?" Kylee asked with some embarrassment in her eyes.
"Sure." Kenny said.
Laila forgot about her hunger and helped Deahna up. They all went down the basement stairs when Laila said, "I don't like the feeling of this."
They all just remained silent until they reached the room. As soon as everyone was inside, Kylee locked the door behind them. "So when did we end up falling asleep?" Kylee asked.
Deahna remembered that she started to drink at around 9:30 pm and told Kylee "I remember starting to drink at around 9:30." Kylee went to look at the cameras at around 9:30 pm and started to fast forward the time until she was somewhat suspicious.
When she saw that everyone was going to bed, she saw Kenny going to the kitchen to get a knife. Then seconds later he fell and passed out. Then the cameras went out.
"KENNY!? What were you doing with a knife?" Kylee asked.
"I don't know, I don't even remember going to bed!" Kenny answered.
"Well then how come you passed out in the kitchen, and what happened to the camer-'' Kylee stopped when they heard a loud scream coming outside of the room.
"W-what was that?" Deahna asked, no one responded. They all stayed inside the room for about 5 minutes without talking. Then they all decided to leave the room. When Kylee went to unlock the door and open it, she wasn't able to open it.
"Guys! I t-t-think someone locked us in the room," Kylee stuttered.
"What are you talking about?!" Kenny asked and went over to the door and tried to open it, but wasn't able to.
The group looked at each other in shock. "Who would do this?" Laila asked.
"Yeah, who would do such a thing?" Kenny asked them. Then he looked at Kylee, "Is there anyone else in this mansion?"
"No, I told my parents we were going to be here, so they're the only ones that know." Kylee responded. "Who else would be here?" She questioned.
They all stood in silence and looked at eachother with fear in their eyes.Then Deahna looked up and stared at them. "There is something I need to tell you guys." She confessed.
"What is it?" Laila asked as Deahna started getting teary eyed.
"Last night, I woke up during the night from a bang coming from the front yard. I went to go see if someone was there, but no one was. Then I heard a stomp, and closed the door and locked it. I didn't know what to do, so I sat in the corner of the room. Shortly after, I heard a giggle coming from the room behind me. I started to feel woozy and then I just passed o-out." Deahna said and started to shake.
"Hey, it's okay. But that means there is someone else in this house. And we need to get out of here as soon as possible." Kylee said with horror in her eyes.
"Does anyone have a bobby pi-" Kenny asked but was interrupted by his phone ringing.
"YOU IDIOT, you had your phone this WHOLE time," Laila said with anger in her voice.
"I didn't think about it at all, I'm sorry," Kenny admitted.
"Whatever, who's calling you?" Laila asked.
Kenny looked at his phone and saw that the contact name was "Unknown". His hands started to shake. "I don't know who it is, I'll just decline it and call 911," Kenny said. As he declined the call, he went to dial 911, but before he even pressed 9, he got a text from the "Unknown" caller.
"Answer your phone now, or you all die," Kenny was in shock.
"GUYS! I just got a text from the unknown person. I-It said that if I don't answer my phone, we're gonna die..." Kenny was scared, they all were scared. Deahna started to cry again and Laila's eyes got wider as she was in shock.
They stood there thinking about what just happened. It felt like they were thinking for hours, but reality came back to them when the sound of a phone ringing started. They all looked terrified. Kenny looked down at his phone and pressed answer, then put it on speaker...
"H-Hello?" Kenny stuttered. They all started to shake. ¨Wh-who is this?!" He exclaimed.
¨Oh Kenny, always so curious, who do you think it is?¨ the unknown person asked.
Everyone looked at Kenny and watched as Kenny started getting teary eyed.
¨I-I don't know,¨ he said in fear.
¨Oh well, I guess you all will find out soon. I notice you guys are stuck, such a shame. Nowhere to go, nowhere to be, no one will ever know you're missing, IF you were to go missing,¨ the unknown person's voice got deeper, ¨You guys have a challenge, get out of the house, sound easy? Good, first task is to find a way out of the room. Maybe it is easier than you think, but you guys should know that I cut all power lines to the house so you can't call for help, but I can still call you ¨ Kenny got startled by the sound of a call ending.
¨Ẅho is that?!¨ Laila asked. No one said anything.
It was about 5 minutes when they heard a sound of air coming from the vent above them. Instantly Kylee knew what needed to be done.
¨We have to climb the vent,¨ Kylee said, then everyone understood.
¨Help me up,¨ Deahna stated. Kylee, Laila, and Kenny helped Deahna up the vent. They all then stood there.
¨Are you out of your mind, I'm not going alone!¨ Deahna said with no hesitation.
¨I'll go with her, we don't want her passing out again,¨ Kylee said as Kenny and Laila helped her up.
¨You go find your way out of the vent and then call for-¨ Kenny was interrupted.
¨HOLD ON! They're coming back for us, RIGHT?!¨ Laila said with anxiety in her voice when she looked at Kenny.
¨Of course they are,¨ he reassured her, then looked at Kylee and Deahna, ¨Come back for us when you find a way out,¨ he said.
