The moment Maya comes back from her meeting with Christopher, the atmosphere in the penthouse changes.
It is energetic.
"You look happy," I say with a smile. "It went that well?"
"It went amazing," She replies and embraces her arms around my neck. "Christopher is super nice and he sees lots of possibilities."
"That's good to hear. Care to share them with me?"
"Uhm," She pecks my lips. "Just that he is going to draft me a contract to be his agent if I decide to stay here with you."
My fingers lock around the back of her head as I press my lips firmly on hers, she deepens the kiss by pulling me closer.
"I would love for you to stay here with me."
Maya rolls her eyes, the smile still large on her face, but she is not letting go another word about her meeting with Christopher.
"I would love to meet him," I continue. "Perhaps he and I can come up with an idea together to keep you in London with me."
"Maybe you can," Her lips brush over mine before she kisses me again.
It is the 'if' that is killing me. I'm trying to do everything I can, but she keeps having her doubts.

December 29th, London, United Kingdom
It surprised me when Maya actually set up a meeting between Christopher and me. But she said she needed two other sets of ears to listen to his deal, so I told her I would go.
Christopher is already at the agreed location, sitting in the corner of the coffee shop.
"Hi Christopher," I say, slightly doubtful, but since Maya showed me a picture of him, I was almost certain this was him. "Nice to meet you."
"Likewise," Christopher stands up, shaking my hand and then gestures to the chair in front of him.
"Maya has already told me a bit about your first meeting. You're very eager to work alongside her, aren't you?"
A waitress comes to take our drinking order, delaying Christoper's answers, but he smiles and nods, "Yes. Alexandra has told me tons about her. And with her reputation as a very satisfied publisher and two books... I am a true believer we can make it work here too."
"I am so glad to hear that. I was already afraid so would be bored here in London," I chuckle, but it is a true relief what's falling off my shoulders. "And it wouldn't be a problem if she travelled with me to the races, right? She's a writer, after all, no need to stay in London when I am gone."
