Lorelei's POV:
Walking into the kitchen, I am unhappy to see Tyler of all people, propped up in the living room. None of the Mikaelson clan are anywhere to be seen. We sit in awkward silence, unsure what to say to one another. It had been 2 weeks since he'd been here last and I wasn't sure if I could trust him.
"If you're going to kill me, I have something to say first."
He knows killing me would be a death sentence. He'd die either way.
"I'm not going to kill you but you could've been a bit more discreet." I snip
"Your plan was stupid from the start."
I look at him, surprised, unsure why he would say such a thing when the plan was successful. Sure there were a few hiccups but the way he's glaring at me now says that something happened that I didn't hear about.
" Tyler the plan was successful. We got Rebekah." I reply
"Well, it didn't go unpunished that's for sure."
It's only after this moment that I really take the time to scan him up and down.
He looks like shit.
There's a crazed look that comes from people who've dealt with Nik and had it backfire. It was a deep fear and paranoia that only he could induce in anyone. Back when I'd first come into the Mikaelson world Rebekah had told me the story of Katherine Pierce.
I doubt she was the first to take matters into her own hands nor was she the last.
For the most part, I have been doing my best to stay in the forest as much as I can. Nik would be busy with his hybrids or out and about in town so for the most part, he hadn't really noticed my absence. I had done my best to do whatever it was asked of me at the house before taking off again. So far I had spent the last two hours, cleaning the bathrooms, the dining room and the kitchen.
Looking back towards the house as I continue my way into the tree line, I'm sad I'm not able to spend as much time with Rebekah as much as I want to since she returned but I hope she understands. Out of anybody she knew how insufferable he could be. He controls her life just as much as he controls mine.
I focus my attention back to Tyler, who looks like he's about to take the plunge himself.
"What did Nik do to you?" I ask gently
"He made one of the newer hybrids- Thomas- lock me in the basement cell. He ordered to feed me just enough blood to keep me from desiccating. For 2 weeks."
"I'm sorry that happened."
He shakes his head, dismissing it all.
"That's mot why I came. Klaus sent me to grab his mother's Grimmoire."
I sigh.
I knew the peace wouldn't last forever.
"Alright."
Oce Tyler leaves, I take off towards the woods, not returning until dawn, spending the night chasing deer through the forest. I took my time, enjoying the hunt and practicing my tracking skills before eventually going in for the kill of a turkey instead. As I walk, barefooted in the thick mud that cools my scratched up feet, I notice Rebekah standing in the doorway, staring intently out of the forest. There's no doubt she is waiting for me. It had been days of sleeping, cleaning, hunting and so on. I hadn't spent much time with her recently. My thoughts are immediately confirmed as she lights up when she sees me.
" I thought I would find you here at this hour."
" I owe you a girl's night I know."
We turn around and head for the house, when her phone chimes. She pulls it from her pocket,
and I silently hope that it isn't a text from Nik. We had talked quite a bit since the party, but after he had confirmed my private thoughts about how I felt about him, I was angry that he had violated my privacy in such a way. At the same time, it's not like I could be completely shocked. I was highly emotional at the time and vulnerable and we both knew it.
