Chapter 12 | Emily

Me and Nina had planned to go shopping and then later go to the stadium to watch the test match.

In the morning, Nina was on her phone texting Ryan.

We reached the stadium at 1pm and after wishing Noah 'good luck' I went to the stands and took a seat with Nina.

I was literally lost in the game with zero knowledge about the game. I had no idea what was happening. Whenever the team yelled in happiness, I'd just bounce up and cheer with the audience.

The game ended and I just looked at Noah who had a wide smile on his face while his teammates surrounded him cheering and doing a manly shake.

His eyes found me and he looked away as a cheerleader approached him from behind, running towards him.

They talked for a few seconds, he suddenly looked at me and my eyes widened. Did he just see me staring at him. Before he got the chance to smirk or do something annoying, I went down the stands.

After a while he came running behind me asking if I was alright, actually asking what was wrong with me.

Basically I was in a mad mood this morning. First Nina and her obsession with Ryan. Then I missed my mom out of nowhere. I saw my dad in the newspaper, he was a famous businessman, he was getting married to another woman. Did he really even love mom.

Then later on while Noah kept bugging me right now, I received a call from my mom's lawyer saying that he'd like to meet me urgently.

I burst out with anger in front of Noah, taking out all my sorrow and now I felt guilty. I don't wanna be like my dad. At all.

I told Nina about the call and she told me to go. I sat in the car with a frown. Thinking if I should go. I felt someone looking at me but I didn't bother to look at them. Instead I had my head bowed.

Nina drove towards the cafe where I was asked to meet while the boys headed to some after-party.

We reached the cafe. I was pretty nervous. Why now ?

"Ems it'll be alright, just go inside" Nina said, rubbing my back.

"I'm scared " I said.

"I'm right here okay?" She assured me and I nodded. I gave her a hug and got out of the car and headed inside the cafe.

As soon as I entered, I saw a man on the left. He looked at me and waved at me. I went there and sat across him. Feeling a bit underdressed. He was a lawyer after all.

I was wearing a maroon top and beige pants.

"Hi" I said, more like whispered.

"No need to be nervous Emily, it's not some bad news" he assured me.

"Please just rip the bandaid off" I huffed.

"Alright, so before your mom passed away, a week before actually, she saved some money for you which was to be transferred in your account when you would be eighteen years old. "

I looked at him confused. Why would mom save money for me.

" You must be thinking why she would do that, actually your mom wanted to tell you this but I guess the accident never let it happen " he huffed.

" What do you mean" I was feeling really weak right now.

" Your mom was diagnosed with Cancer after they moved to California."

I froze. Tears formed in my eyes.

" Y-your lying " I stammered as a few tears ran down my eyes.

He looked sad, "sorry dear but it's the truth " he bowed his head.
