Sighing as she locks the front door before tossing her keys into the front pocket of her brick heavy school bag, Skye pauses and considers turning around and going back to bed instead of starting the walk to school. Trodding down the road, Skye focuses on putting one school shoe in front of the other, mentally cursing when she realises she has the wrong socks on and  is going to receive yet another uniform infringement; six in one term must be a new record, she thinks to herself.

Nearing the school gates she smiles when she sees her two best friends waiting for her, chuckling when she hears Evelyn snort with laughter at something Caitlin had said. Quickening her pace she meets them quickly before flicking both of them on the forehead gently as a greeting.

"Skye you've shot me! Caity she's shot me!" Evelyn dramatically exclaims, feinting death with her hand.

"Eve shut it, you're such a drama queen" Caity responds with a chuckle, elbowing the brunette softly in her ribs.

"come on you two, lets get going" Skye states before pulling both girls towards her by putting an arm around each girls shoulder, huffing when her short height resulted in her having to walk on her tiptoes. Caitlin and Evelyn shared a look before snorting out in laughter at Skyes struggle.

In third period, the three girls were getting ready to leave for lunch, scoffing down the pasta that they had made in food class before.

"Did you hear that Megan is getting with a new guy, a different guy" Evelyn starts, spilling the gossip she had heard throughout the day.

Skyes ears prick up at the mention of her childhood best friend. "No I haven't heard anything" She replies.

"Yeah I heard this is her third guy in 3 months, what a whore" Evelyn sniggers before returning to her pasta.

"Yeah well that 'whore' was also my best friend for a long time so watch your mouth there Eve" Skye responds with a grimace. Not liking how Evelyn had just spoken about someone she seemingly didn't know very well.

"I agree with Eve, if you don't want to have a reputation then don't give other people a reason to give you one" Caitlin states with a shrug, seeming unconcerned about the topic of conversation.

Skye just huffed, annoyed with her friends before spotting someone on the other side of the class who she had been meaning to talk to.

"I'll catch you guys later I need to talk to Mila" she told her friends before getting up and walking over to Mila Lakers, the school soccer girl. Noticing that Skye was approaching, Mila made eye contact with the blonde girl before giving her a kind questioning smile, confused to the oncoming interaction.

"Skye...hi" Mila starts with a small smile.

"Hi Mila, i've um, I have been meaning to ask you something" replies Skye, suddenly nervous and questioning if this was what she really wanted.

With an eyebrow raised, Mila gives Skye a soft smile and a nod of the head, urging her to continue.

"I was wondering if there is any way I could come down for a trial with your team. I mean I completely understand if thats not possible or if you don't want me to come down I just want a fresh start with a new sport so i thought, yeah, anyway, Um no stress or anything I was just wondering" Skye rambles nervously, looking down to her fingers and cursing her shyness when it comes to new people.

Mila just chuckles lightly before tapping Skye on the shoulder, causing her to look up.

"Of course you can come down and trial Skye, we are always looking for new blood. We are having a session tonight if you want to come by. I am sure the coach will not mind. Give me your number so I can text you the details"
