Marvel Knights RWBY: The Vengeful One (RWBY: Volume 1-2)

Volume 2: Chapter 7

3rd P.O.V

It was the day of the Beacon Dance. Everyone was having a jolly good time, and the teachers were even enjoying the night. Until then, Jaune was tapped by the shoulder by Kairi as he looked confused.

Jaune: "What is it?"

Kairi: "Ummm. You see, I....always remember you. From a long time ago."

Jaune: "Oh, and why is that?"

Kairi: "It was when we were kids..."

Flashback

It was a beautiful day. The young Jaune Arc was enjoying his day standing by a field of sunflowers. It was a paradise, and what made it even more of a paradise was that he saw his childhood friend, Kairi walked to him with a big smile on her face.

Kairi: "Hi, Jaune."

Jaune: "Oh hey, Kairi. What's you up to?"

Kairi: "Not much, look what I made ya."

Kairi then revealed a crown made out of sunflowers for him. She placed it on his head, and he smiled, accepting his friend's gift. He then pulled out a crown made out of daises for Kairi, too. He carefully places it on her head, and she smiles and takes his hand as they both run together into the field of flowers, having fun, until to their surprise they see Riku and Sora.

Riku: "Well, if it isn't Sunflower Prince and Daisy Princess."

Sora: "So, you love birds finally having the time of your life?"

Jaune: "Sora for the last time, Kairi is not my girlfriend!"

Kairi: "And it's not funny either."

Riku: "We're just messing with you guys. Calm down. Sheesh, don't know when to take a joke?"

Sora: "Yeah, besides, we were just messing around, man."

Jaune: "Well, it's all water under the bridge. Besides, it's all good."

Suddenly, there was a growling noise coming from the bushes. A beowolf emerged from the bushes and tried to go after Kairi. Jaune then moved her out the way and uppercutted the Beowolf as its tooth fell out for it to then slash at his arm. Kairi checked on Jaune as the beowolf was ready to finish them off, but Zach then arrived and slashed the beowolf in half.

Zach: "You alright, kids?"

Kairi: "Yeah. Thanks, Zach."

Sora: "Come on, Jaune. Let's take you inside to heal that wound."

Riku then helped Jaune up and took him inside the house, as Sora then cleaned his wound and patched it up, while Kairi was thankful for Jaune's help out there, but didn't expect him to go that far.

Kairi: "I am curious about why you saved me back there."

Jaune: "Simple, because you're one of the many important people in my life, I wouldn't want to lose you because you're my friend, and you've always had my back and I'd always have yours."

Kairi then blushed to that as she felt some sort of feeling for Jaune. A feeling that her heart racing. She turned away just smiling when Jaune smiled back.

Exit Flashback

Jaune: "Right, I remembered that day. It's just been so long since I last saw you, Kairi."

Kairi: "Yeah, yeah, it was....Jaune, there's something I want to tell you."

Jaune: "I'm listening."

Kairi then blushed a bit, but as she struggled to find the right words to say, she was having a hard time trying to speak, but Jaune calmed her nerves.
