The Preparation

What will I need?' i wondered. Since we're going for a longer period, it's better to pack more than to end up missing something important. And I will also need to do it inconspicuously. Actually, my friend Laura and I were planning on running away from our homes. Yeah, it sounds like its from some kind of a movie, but it's not. We aren't leaving because of violence at home or because we're some sort of rebels. Not at all. The reason is very simple. I forgot to mention that Laura and I listen to K-pop. Laura loves Stray Kids, and I love BTS an they are having a concert soon (by the way I'm Nika/Veve/Hyunjin). We asked our parents first, but they didnt allow us to. I don't know why though, there's nothing bad about it. But they apparently have somthing against BTS and that's only thanks to my brothers. When I first mentioned them, my older brother Peťo started mumbling that they are gay and, I guess, my parents didn't exactly like that. Its their problem, they are missing out on a LOT. Both my parents and my brothers. But to come back to what I was previously thinking. 'What will I take with me?' Since we're going to Germany and then to New York, I will need a lot of stuff but I also have to be discrete, so I won't be obvious. 'Hmmm. I will take this red backpack. Some clothes and food will also be handy, but first I have to call Laura because we kind of forgot about this. Oh, and also my fake passport. The first concert is in three days, so I'll take some underwear, one pair of long pants, shorts, a hoodie, three shirts are enough, I guess. And then when I'll go to NY by a plane, I will take more underwear, four more shirts and some pants, and that's it.' All that is left is to stuck it all into my backpack and then I will finally call Laura. 'Oh, dumb me! I forgot my other necessities. My toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, lip gloss amd some Paralen aswell, just in case. Yeah, and I can call Laura now!'

- Lauraaaa?

- Yesss, what's going on, Veve?

- We uh- kinda forgot about food...!

- Eeee! You're right! What will we do now?

- I was thinking that each of us will take some bread and some sweets.

- Could be!

- Aaaaalright then, see ya tomorrow!

- Yeah, we'll see eachother! Bye!

I ended just in time, because my oldest brother Marek just entered my room, and I almost wasn't able to hide my bag. „Nika, did you see my ruler?" he asked me. „Last time when I saw it, it was in Peťo's room." I replied truthfully. „Dinner!" my mom yelled from the kitchen. I put on my best I'm-in-pain face and walked down the stairs. „Anya (thats how I call my mom bc it's basically mom in Hungarian), I think I won't eat dinner tonight. My stomach hurts so much and I feel like throwing up," I said. Mom looked at me with worries in her eyes. She said: „Alright. If you need something, just tell me! Go to bed now." I nodded my head and I slowly walked up the stairs. If anyone's wondering why I lied about feeling unwell, it was because I need to sleep a lot before i leave. It's 6 pm and since I'm leaving at 1 am tonight, I should sleep as much as possible.
