Shortly before the experiment takes place, Lou jitsu is encased in a cage of vines, only being able to look on at what happens below. Baron Draxum looks over a crate of four turtle hatchlings, grabbing the red-eared slider with one hand.

"What are you doing with Green?" Lou Jitsu questions nervously.

"I see you've taken a liking to these turtles." Draxum remarks sinisterly. "Fascinating creatures, built for survival and defense, yet they are too slow to be effective fighters... Until now, when I'll use your DNA to mutate them." Draxum uses his mystic tentacles to raise the four hatchlings into pods so the mutation process may begin.

"Wait, stop! I will not let you turn these innocent creatures into violent monsters!" Shouts the former movie star.

Draxum pulls a lever and chuckles with anticipation.

"I know I said I'd never fight again... but..." Lou Jitsu speaks, tearing away from the vine restraints, "HOT SOUP!"

With impossible agility, Lou lunges towards the wall behind the villain and springs off of it, using the momentum to knee Draxum directly in the jaw, slamming the cloven-hooved yokai against his own machine, causing the terrapins to be released.

"What have you done?!" Shouted Baron Draxum, scrambling to his feet.

The two men brawled, it seemed to be more or less an even match, despite one being merely human and the other being a yokai warrior. Suddenly, two puny gargoyles the color of coal are knocked into the core of the contraption during the ensuing violence, causing it to be destroyed.

"What?! No, my ooze!" Draxum exclaims, before getting slammed with a piece of debris.

"Precious creatures. I shall save you, little turtles!" Lou jitsu spoke, scooping up the four hatchlings into his arms... but being turtles, they were slippery.

Lou releases every beast from their cages. To his horror, as the whole building crumbles, the ooze from the machinery sprays out onto his body, transfiguring him into something nonhuman, due to the shock, he drops two of the turtles, the softshell and the snapper. Miraculously, Lou Jitsu manages to escape the horrid place without losing his life.

After Lou makes his way out of the twisted place that is the so-called 'hidden city', he takes shelter in an alleyway. He shudders, looking at his mutated hands... thinking of the man he once was only a few minutes before. He hadn't just lost the life he had as Lou Jitsu, he'd lost the life he had as Yoshi, Hamato Yoshi.

Yoshi collapsed to the ground due to exhaustion, unconscious. Shortly after Yoshi had fallen asleep, the box turtle wriggled free from his grasp and began to wander through the streets of NYC.

The box turtle was eventually spotted by two twisted-looking men with pale violet skin and orange footprints painted onto their faces, the Foot lieutenant and the Foot Brute. The larger of the two picked up the small terrapin and gazed at him.

"What's a cute little tortoise doing in the middle of the city?" The Foot Brute wondered aloud.

"Probably nothing." The Lieutenant responded.

"Can we keep it?" Asked the Brute, gently patting the turtle.

"Sure, we were in need of a mascot anyhow." The Lieutenant agreed.
