"I want to do something splendid...something heroic or wonderful that won't be forgotten after I'm dead. I don't know what, but I'm on the watch for it and mean to astonish you all someday."
- Louisa May Alcott

As consciousness slowly began to trickle back into Nik's body, the first thing he becomes vaguely aware of is an up and down motion rocking his body, and for a second he thinks that he's on a boat of some sort before his scrunched features relax themselves and allow him to open his eyes to be met with... more darkness?

All of a sudden a splitting headache rips through the mercenaries skull, making him feel as if his brain is attempting to combust inside of him. In his semi-conscious state he's able to produce a sort of groan, one that doesn't go unnoticed by the person carrying Nik, the latter already forgetting that they're being carried at the moment.

The figure holding Nik abruptly stops moving upon the noise, the motion (or lack of) suddenly reminding the mercenary that they are in someone's arms right now, not even mentioning how this person even seemed to take care to hold him so that he doesn't ache any more than he already does. Even the thought of it is embarrassing, but this is unfortunately reality.

After a quiet moment, were the only sounds heard is the soft breathing of the bounty hunter and the slightly more laboured breath of the mercenary, a gruff and modulated voice seems to call down from above him.

"Do you attract head trauma or something?" The voice asks, and to be honest it's difficult for Nik to discern if the question was mocking or genuine. There is one thing that the mercenary is absolutely sure of, and that's that the voice belongs to the person who had him quite literally locked up in their ship, the bounty hunter, the Mandalorian.

"Only assholes." Nik reply's, his voice hoarse and muffled by the material resting over his face.

The bounty hunter doesn't attempt to respond with a comeback, ticking off Nik more than if he had actually said something.

This moment feels oddly disconcerting for the pair, and before the armoured man can say or do anything more, Nik uses as much energy as he can gather to roll out of the formers arms. The bounty hunter doesn't resist, letting the mercenary fall onto the rough ground below him rather harshly.

Nik lands ungraciously on top of the rocky ground, and if it wasn't for his jacket covering his face he likely would have gotten a mouthful of dirt and sand. He lifts his head, wincing at the light shining down on them. As his eyes adjust, he lifts himself up to rest on his knees and his eyes latch onto the several dark spots plastered over them. Kriffing Jawa's.

After another moment he lifts himself onto his feet, wobbling slightly as he attempts to walk a few steps over the uneven terrain. Meanwhile, the bounty hunter stands watching him with his arms crossed over his chest in a bored manner.

The mercenary leans down to pick his jacket off the rocky ground, but as he rises a soft coo from beside him makes him freeze. Slowly, he turns his head towards where the sound came from and his eyes widen at the sight.

A little green child in a pod, staring at Nik with wide, curious eyes.

Nik stares right back at the child, a mixture of confusion and horror written plainly on his face. Is that kid the Mandalorian's? Did he try to kill this kids father? The thought makes him feel sick to his stomach, as much as he hates the bounty hunter, who's silently watching the interaction between the the two, he couldn't bare the thought of taking a father away from a child. He knows too well how the child would feel.

"Is that your- is that your kid?" Nik asks hesitantly, turning towards the armour clad figure as he rises to his full height again (which is only shoulder height with the Mandalorian). His voice is full of apprehension, almost as if he's scared of the answer, which quite frankly he is.
