Part Four: Konoha

Naruto had arrived and joined the fight, but now Sasuke was on the ground.

Tazuna seemed to realize that Chaos wanted to go over to her team mate, 'Go on, I'll stay by you.'

She tilted her head to the side, taking note of him, then she nods and the pair ran over to Sasuke.

'Is he okay?' asks Tazuna as Chaos kneels by Sasuke's side.

In the background, Naruto is still fighting Haku and Kakashi is fighting Zabuza.

'He's dead,' muttered Chaos.

Tazuna leans in close, 'What did you say?'

She didn't look up, 'He's dead.'

Now Chaos stood, 'Naruto,' she barked.

Naruto didn't look at her, 'What?'

'Come watch Tazuna,' she said, her voice fierce.

Naruto went to wine but then caught a glimpse of the venomous look on Chaos' face.

He immediately dropped off, allowing Chaos to flash into the fight.

'Konoha's fastest thinker and fastest mover,' ponders Haku, repeating Kakashi's earlier words.

Chaos flashed a smile, 'Is he really dead?' she asked, she and Haku were both moving fast, each barely fending off the others attacks.

A strange look flashed across Haku's face, 'Do you really think I would miss my target?' he asked, his voice smooth.

'No, I think you might have done the same thing you did to Zabuza.'

Haku considered, 'Would you fight at your best if I told you he was dead?'

Chaos let out a harsh bark of laughter, 'I don't care if Sasuke is alive or not.'

'Do you care at all for your comrades?'

'Not really,' replied Chaos, her expression droll.

'I see,' said Haku, 'I would stay, but I have to go.' he spun around and zipped off, Chaos gave chase but skidded to a halt several feet away.

Haku had jumped in between Kakashi and Zabuza, stopping Kakashi's chidori from going through Zabuza.

Haku was dead.

This was the harshness of life, people died.

Zabuza commended Haku for finally doing his job.

Naruto spoke up finally, he looked almost heart broken, for this stranger, desperate to know, why didn't Zabuza care that his best friend was dead?

Chaos looked away as the pair spoke, she hated signs of emotion.

She heard it when a crowd appeared at the other end of the bridge, Gato at the head of the group.

To her side she also heard Sasuke stir.

'Sasuke!' exclaimed Naruto.

Sasuke didn't say anything in responce, just made a grunting noise as he tried to sit up.

'Don't sit up,' stated Chaos flatly, 'you were injured.'

Zabuza turned, 'What are you doing here?'

'You've proven yourself useless,' said Gato, 'couldn't even take out some puny ninja,' he kicked Haku's body.

Naruto went to lunge forward but Kakashi stopped him.

'Don't worry, I'll deal with this,' said Zabuza to Kakashi, 'give me my kunei, kid,' directed to Naruto.
