The exchange program was over. It was fun while it lasted, but inevitably the day everyone avoided had come. Bags were packed, tears were shed, and the worst of all... final goodbyes.

Mcs POV

I rolled over on the small and cheap mattress in my dimly lit apartment, looking over at the alarm clock. "Twelve thirteen pm," it shone in red numbers. I rolled back over. I didn't want to get up. Just like every day since I left Devildom, I can't remember the last time I ate a meal smiling, played my favorite game, read a book, dressed up, counted my money, finished paperwork, or even just had a good night's sleep. Things I now felt was only possible with them. I kept my eyes closed tightly as I felt the tears swelling up, I refused to let any fall.

A few minutes later, I heard knocking on the front door, which was only about 20 feet from my bed as my apartment was quite small.

KNOCK

I let it continue for a little while longer before finally deciding to get up. I sat up with what felt like the weight of the world on my shoulders. I sighed before pushing myself out of bed, my socks hitting the hard, cold wood floor. I remember why I always wore my slippers now, but.. Levi got me those. I can't even remember where they are, I haven't even touched anything I packed since I came back, it's all just collecting dust in my closet. It took a while for me to even find the motivation to put it in there.

Once I was in front of the door, I placed my hand on the cold doorknob. I twisted and pulled it open, only to be met with air. No one was out there. I peeked my head out into the hallway to see that the knocking was on my neighbor's door. "God damn it," I murmured under my breath. I got up for this? Seriously? I shut my door with an irritated sigh. Leaning my back against it, I guess I should get up for the day.

Should I continue this?-
