It took Graves a few days to write to me again. Faith stayed with me until we got it. When there was a knock on the door, I ran towards it. I snatched the letter from the post-dwarf's hand, mumbled a quick thank you and slammed the door shut. I ran back to Faith in the living room and opened the letter.
"Well, well, dear Ruby. I said you were cleverrr. Asking your pet elf to help is a good strategy and I NEVER said it wasn't allowed. Now ready for your first HINT!?
Far in woods filled with darkness and despair,
There where you breathe in the cold, deadly air.
No sun will pass those branches, no mortal soul will survive,
Just know no to deprive.
Down the hills near Beggar's Hole,
You will have to use your heart and soul.
Only those pure of heart,
Will make those trees move apart.
Go left or right or maybe straight ahead,
You must go where most people bled.
Can you find your next hint, dear RUBY? Will you and your little pet FIND your next clue? We shall see, dear Ruby. We shall see!"Faith looked at me and I looked right back at her.
"This man is an absolute lunatic." She exclaimed. I nodded.
"Agreed. Why do evil people always speak in riddles?" I replied. Faith looked at me, looking very confused. I sighed.
"Like in the movies?" I tried to make her understand. I succeeded.
"Oh right!" She said. I weakly smiled.
"Now where is Beggar's Hole?" With that, Faith pulled out her phone. She gasped.
"It's like 500 kilometres from here! That's like 8 days of walking!" She exclaimed.
"Who said we're walking?" I replied.
"Because this feels like some trip Bilbo Baggings would take!"
"From The Hobbit?"
"Yeah! But, are we not walking?"
"We are, but I just wanted to know why you expected us to walk." Faith sighed.
"Do we have to? Can't we take a bus or something?" She asked.
"No. We have to keep a low profile. The cops can't know we're going after my dad." I replied. Faith sighed again. I clapped my hands.
"Come, come. Pack your bags. We have a trip to make. Bilbo Baggins-style!"
