"Why us?" Leo frowned.

"The both of you are the most," Father paused, a crinkle forming in his forehead,"suitable. Besides, who else would I trust with this?"

"Who is she anyway? Why should I even care?"

It was the first thing I said since we were briefed about this. It was the first time my brother and I would venture out of our country. I felt my face contort into a sour expression. I leaned back into my chair. I was actually somewhat a little excited to knowing how the humans lived, but I would never admit that.

"You will find her and you will deliver." Father had enough of our questions,"Is that clear?"

"Yes, sir." Leo pretended to sigh, but a slight smile escaped his lips. He probably thought that he would have fun doing this. How naive. Although this might be my only chance to get out of this place, I was somewhat reluctant. I don't like getting my hands dirty.

"Fine." I answered uninterestedly when Father raised an eyebrow at me.

"Watch your tone, Zack." Father warned.

A knock on the door broke the unsettling silence. Liam's muffled voice cut through the tension,"Sir, I'm really sorry to disturb but-"

He stood up, gave us a slight nod. We are dismissed.
