There was a knock on the hospital door, and we looked that way to see Rob, Max, and Drew there staring at my mate, concerned.

"Alpna," Max said and bowed his head when he noticed me staring at them with a frown on my face, and the other two instantly looked at me and bowed their heads.

"How are you feeling, Georgie?" Rob asked while he looked at her. "Are you o-?"

"Can you watch my siblings?" Georgie asked, interrupting him. "Please?"

I looked at her and saw that they were having a silent conversation with each other and felt slightly jealous of their relationship.

I narrowed my eyes and scowled while I turned my gaze back to Rob, hoping to make him feel uncomfortable and for him to stop staring at her like that.

She's mine...

"Ash?" Georgie asked and turned her attention to me, and I looked at her, staying silent.

There was a small frown on her face, but that didn't hide the amusement in her eyes while she looked at me.

"Yes?" I asked and furrowed my brows while I cocked my head and studied her. "What is it?"

"You can stop looking at him like that," she said, and I stared at her blankly.

I didn't respond and blinked slowly, not knowing what she meant, even though a part of me did. I stayed silent while I stared at her, waiting for her to respond or say something about the way that I was acting.

Georgie scowled and dipped her head while she looked at me. "Ash," she said softly, again, and I raised an eyebrow in question and amazement about her tone with me.

The twins snorted in amusement as if they knew the tone she used on me because she had used it on them more times than not.

Georgie's eyes grew wide, and her cheeks turned red when she realized the tone she used. She looked down and cleared her throat while she shifted in the bed, and her cheeks grew redder. "Sorry, sorry," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper before she cleared her throat again. "I-I didn't mean t-"

"Don't," I said and shook my head while I interrupted her. "Don't apologize, Georgie. You don't need to apologize about that."

My mate hesitated before she nodded and cleared her throat. Her cheeks turned more red, but she didn't say another word while she looked at Rob and Max again. "Can you take the twins?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rob pressed his lips into a thin line before he looked at me before he looked at her again. He slowly nodded and cleared his throat. "We can," he confirmed and nodded again before he raised an eyebrow and had another silent conversation with her.

I pressed my lips into a thin line but didn't say a word, knowing full well that Georgie would call me out for being "overly-protective" of her, especially with her friends.

But I almost lost her...

The guilt was too much for me to handle, and I couldn't help but feel as if her being hurt by her father was my fault.

I should have been the one to watch out for her, especially since I had known that she was my mate. I shouldn't have had random females in my bed with her on my mind, but I did. I shouldn't have done a lot of things, but I did, and I couldn't live with that guilt, knowing that they had to live in misery while I didn't have to.

Georgie hesitated but reached over and grabbed my hand. She squeezed it reassuringly, and I couldn't help but stare at her with wide eyes.

She was amazing... and such a strong, wonderful person.

She didn't deserve the hand that she was given, but for some reason, she wasn't bitter or angry because of it.

Rob cleared his throat, and we looked at him, staying silent. "What do you want us to do with the twins?" Rob asked and raised an eyebrow. He looked amused by my jealousy, and I couldn't help but scowl and narrow my eyes at him.

"Can you get Benji to brush his teeth and see if they have eaten, please?" Georgie asked hesitantly while she looked at me. She set her jaw and cleared her throat while she shifted on her feet. "I ca-"

"You aren't paying for anything," I said, interrupting her, and she looked at me with wide eyes. "You don't need to pay for anything." I dipped my head while I studied her. "Ok?"

She hesitated before she nodded. "Ok," she said softly. She cleared her throat and shifted on the bed again before she looked at Rob. "Can you make sure that they have eaten?"

"I can," Rob said and nodded, "and I will make sure that he brushes his teeth." He looked at Benji and winked, and Benji scowled and narrowed his eyes.

"Not funny," he said. "My breath doesn't smell that bad."

"It does," Georgie said, and I looked at her before I looked at her brother, amused. She stared at her brother and scowled while she narrowed her eyes. "It was one of the first things that I noticed when I woke up, again."

Her brother looked at her and grinned innocently. He didn't say a word, and she sighed and shook her head, amused.

"What am I going to do with you, Benjie?" she asked and raised an eyebrow, and he shrugged and smiled.

"You'll keep loving me and protecting me. That is what will happen," he replied and nodded as if he agreed with himself. He looked at me and smiled before he looked at the young men still standing at the door. "Ok," he said and stood. "Let's go and leave them alone. Maybe they will kiss when we are gone."

My cheeks turned red, and i had a feeling that Georgie's cheeks grew red as well. I didn't say a word while the men bit their lips to keep from laughing.

"Ok, Bud," Rob said with a small laugh in his voice. He shook his head and cleared his throat while he looked at the kids. "All right, twins, let's go and leave them alone so that they can talk." He bowed his head toward us before he left with the twins following him and then Max and Drew followed them, all of them staying silent.

Thank Goddess, I said silently while I breathed a sigh of relief, and Georgie sighed as well. Thank you for letting them take care of the kids while my mate and I talk things over...
