At long last, the day had arrived. The official coronation of King Alfred and his Queen Arthur for the kingdom of Spades. The whole kingdom had already decorated the streets with roses and banners ready for after parties for those that can't attend the main hall to celebrate but are just as happy outside. Luckily, the snow had melted enough to be safe for the party as well as have a clear path for the royals to travel between the castle and the church.

In the castle, Everyone was preparing for the ceremony. Matthew and Yao saw themselves in their new attire. Matthew was wearing a special coat with a cape coming off of one shoulder and he wore a spade brooch on his right side. Yao was inspecting his attire that consisted off a long tunic like coat, a pair of slip on shoes with blue socks, his tunic was purple and was topped with a lilac cape sitting on his shoulders and he also was gifted a feather hat to wear on his head. "Not my first choice, but better this than rags." He commented to himself. Matthew nodded before standing next to him. "I agree, Yao."

In the next room, Arthur was being dressed by a young maid and Fritz with his attire but it was accompanied with a velvet mantle. The only differences this time around was he had his hair sleeked back to show off his face more, he wasn't allowed to wear gloves and his outfit had a brooch holding a blue sapphire spade with a golden "Q" decorating it. Arthur observed himself in the mirror, as he was seeing a completely different person. A stranger in royal clothing. Fritz stood behind him before smiling. "Our new king is one lucky man, wouldn't you say Arthur?" He asked. Arthur only nodded with a still expression. Arthur soon thought to himself. What would he called now if he's on the throne and not working as a servant anymore. His royal majesty? Sire? Who knows. He turned his attention to Fritz.

"Fritz, would I still be called Arthur from others?" He asked him. Fritz pondered for a moment before answering the question. "That is a good question. It can interchange between Highness or Majesty, maybe even Sire." He said, making Arthur sigh. "They feel too big of words for me though...I don't feel royal enough for those words..." He said in a low tone. The maid spoke without thinking. "Maybe 'My Lord' as you still have authority as a queen but not too overpowering..." She said. Arthur looked over to the maid before nodding. "Lord, huh? I kinda like that better. Wonderful idea, miss...what's your name again?" He asked, but unsure of her name. She bowed towards him.

"Emily, my lord." she answered. Arthur nodded and smiled warmly to her. "Well, Thank you Emily and it does have a better ring to it." He said. At this time, Alfred was alone in the old room of his father's with the portrait of his father when he was crowned king. He was already in his attire with a deep velvet blue mantle with sapphire adornments all along the top. He kept staring at the portrait like it was a shadow of his father's glory. The objects before him were pure gold decorated with gems found by previous rulers before him. He picked them up in each hand and just like the objects, can already feel the weight of the responsibility on his shoulders. Turning 19 and he will be the youngest King in the history of the Spades rulers. He doesn't feel ready, but there is no other path. He has to be King. He has to do what's right for the kingdom and most importantly, the fate of his queen, jack and ace are on him now. "Please give me guidance to be the best king I can ever be, Dad." He spoke before putting the items back in their place.

There was a knock on the door to which Alfred replied. "Come in." He called and his brother entered the room. "Everyone is waiting, Alfred. Are you ready?" He asked in a calm tone. Alfred could only breathe in and sigh. "I'm not sure. I don't feel it yet...but..." He trailed off. Matthew approached his brother and placed both hands on his shoulders. "You will be great. Dad has put a lot of faith in you being his successor. And you have me, Yao and Arthur by your side. You will be amazing, Al. Trust me. You've got this." He said with encouragement in his voice. Alfred smiled faintly before nodding. "You're right. In this case, I am ready." He said before following his brother out of the door. He is no longer the prince, he will now be a King.
